And he detailed what had only been a doubt I have for every poll this far out from the actual vote. That the central question "if the vote was today..." no matter the answer since it is a "push" question it will be misleading. How many will just recall the last ad or commercial for one or the other they saw? Or any of a dozen other factors that makes their answer a couple of months before completely different then when the poll was taken (an extreme example would be if JRE had gotten the nomination but the leaks about his affair were to break right after).
In fact the question was only inserted way back when to give newspapers something, anything no matter if it reflected anything real or relevant, just something to print.
The take away? polls will suck right up until go time. Use them, but don't be used by, them if you get my drift...
