My former employer is trying to fuck me out of $8000 and the shitty bankruptcy system which screws the individual but pampers the business bankruptcy may let him do it. Anyone in DC want to go spit in his face for me.
While I'm disappointed that Lynch is the ball less cretin I thought he was... Newman seems to be politically more like a Blue Dog Dem than a Republican. She's more moderate than Gregg by appearances.... even if she did work for him. We might be able to get her to cross on some votes... either way, she's about the best we can hope for under the stupid deal made with lynch.
I'm against it, but that would be the only logic I could see...
However, Mittens is a dream opponent... someone weak on nearly every level... the Obama machine would cruch him... Meanwhile clearing mittens could put us against Huckabee or maybe Jeb (although I'm not convinced the Bush name will be any less toxic in 4 years).
Many Senators feel that unless the nominee is Grossly unqualified, that the president should have his pick despite the politics of the nominee. This was Feingold's rationale for voting to confirm Roberts for SCOTUS.
We know he's a tool. That's obvious. We don't know his ambitions. We won't beat him in SC but we can kneecap any POTUS or Party Leader aspirations if we start now. I think we need a serious progressive project designed at taking down the biggest monsters on the GOP fast track. had we had this in 1996 or so, we might have avoided 8 years of W.
Demint is emerging as a GOP leader... at this point, he may be more powerful than McConnell. Clearly he has an eye on future leader roles... the question is... does he try for a POTUS run or is he gunning for McConnell's seat?
