Obama Surpasses 500,000 Donations in March

Barack Obama raised $55,000,000 in February. He had a total number of donations of 727,000. His average February Donation was ~$75.

He further ended the month of February with 983,000 total donations in 2008.

As of 11:18 AM March 12, 2008, his total donations for the year stands at 1,489,525. that means he's received more than a half million donations so far this month.

If the average donation size of $75 holds, he has raised $37,500,000 so far this month.

If we assume the average donation size has decreased to $50, he has raised $25,000,000.

There are still 19 days left in a month where so far Obama has been receiving an average of more than 41,000 donations daily.

At the curent rate of donations received, Barack Obama will surpass 1,250,000 donations during the month of MArch. Assuming he has an average donation at the end of the month of $50, that would be $62,500,000. If the average donation size remains at $75, that would be $93,750,000

I think it's safe to say at this point that Barack Obama is on track for another record breaking month in fundraising.

The way the country is rallying around this man, even in what has been admittedly not a great month, is incredible.

Excited for November!

During the last debate..

Obama said that
"most of his donors were small donors" which is true.

However, most of the MONEY that has come into his campaign was from LARGE donors

Its the same for Hillary.

But she doesn't go around pretending that the small donors, nomatter how many there are of them, are the lions share of her campaign money, like Obama seems to be doing.

Flame me for bringing this up, I know many will. But I think this deliberate play of words, especially during the debate was deceptive and it speaks worlds about the candidate. If she was asked the same question, Hillary would not have responded with what was obviously a well-practiced and misleading response as Obama did.

She would have used up a few seconds of the viewers time to explain the situation. (and of course, the CNN folks would have rolled their eyes as they did when she brought up the IMPORTANT aspects of her healthcare plan - the ones that Obama is avoiding answering - ie. the importance of 'adverse selection' and how it will kill any chance of Obama's plan being affordable for people who need to buy their own insurance)

Barack Obama actually CALLED my brother PERSONALLY last Friday to offer him thanks and hope for fighting his cancer.  I am trult impresed by Obama's compassion and unfettered spirit.

We should pony up a MYDD fund-raiser for Obama; get him some cash from the heart of enemy territory.  I'll chip in 50 if you guys will.

Re: Obama Surpasses 500,000 Donations in March

He won more delegates in TX, if you recall.  And limited her gains in OH to practically none.  In fact, he won more delegates in March then she did, and won more in MS and WY then she won in TX and OH.

Numbers don't lie...

Re: Obama Surpasses 500,000 Donations in March

Since he has already wiped out any delegate gains Hillary made in Ohio and Rhode Islad (remember, he won teh delegate count in Texas) just with Wyoming and Mississippi, I don't worry too much. He's already teh rpesumptive nominee.

Hillary just refuses to admit she's been beat.
