I've got a longer history here than you, and it certainly isn't one of Obama enforcing. I'm also not someone who has criticized Jerome, with the exception of his choice of a few whackjob front pagers--yourself included.
The problem is that in politics, perception is reality, and the current political climate is certainly not friendly to facts. Also, while it was a Bush administration law, Obama supported TARP as a candidate and voted for it as a senator.
I don't think it's so obvious. If the election were held today, of course it would be a rout. But two years of a Republican Congress will be as helpful to him as it was to Bill Clinton, and after spending a quarter billion dollars on his reelection race, I think Obama will be a two-termer.
I think what happened is alot of readers were disgusted by your choice of the term "Chocolate Carter." They expressed that disgust and you deleted the original post. That's what I think happened.
Who does have the cachet to be a contender? Who would have the campaign kitty; the backing of Obama, Durbin, Clinton and Daley; and the sophisticated campaign to defeat Rahm?
Once Obama and the Clintons say "this is my guy," it's done.
I think the Dems should ask McAdams to step down and offer the ballot line to Murkowski. She's got the money, the name recognition, and would defeat Miller in a way none of our Democrats up there can.
Yeah... a small, liberal minority is the way to win our policy objectives. Expanding the tent only gets us things like financial regulation reform, health care reform, and a stimulus plan for starts.

Just when I thought there couldn't be a worse front-pager than Jack Landsman, you go and prove me wrong.
I've said it before and it bears repeating now. Worst front page poster EVER at this site, and that includes Stoller!

If your choice is Rahm or Rev. Meeks, I hope you change your view.

Maybe his broad opposition to gay rights and his positions on immigration?
