Halter has done good things in role as Lt. Governor, though the job is admittedly limited.
One problem that Halter may face is that he is not popular with the Democratic Party establishment in Arkansas. I think this is more personal than policy-related; there is some perception that Halter is arrogant. This may pose a bigger problem than in other places because Democrats hold all statewide offices and both chambers of the state legislature. This would be the first time in a long time that a Democratic incumbent statewide faced a primary challenge in a long time.
I have been an Obama guy from the start, but Biden was my 2nd choice. Joe added a lot to the dialogue, and I'm glad he ran. He did a great job of addressing the issues and forcing the other candidates to up their game in this vein.

If Texas Republicans crash the Democratic Party, it would be to vote for Hillary because they think she is easier to beat in the general.
"DNC members have an important role to play in this nominating process."
As opposed to actual voters?
Needless to say, I agree.
It's pretty sad if there are those arguing that he is a racist.
Cool!
I moved to Texas in 1995 to get my Masters Degree at Texas A&M, then moved to Kilgore after graduation for my job in 1997.
PS -- I'm a current Texas (living in Kilgore)

Desperate?
I think that is premature at the very least
Agreed -- let's stick to the topic of Pravin's diary.
There are plenty of other places to converse on the campaign
Does that mean that if I give money to a campaign, that means I am trying to ship jobs to India?
Arkansas is a possibility
Wow, so much attention on Indian-Americans.
I didn't realize we were that important.
Carry on -- I'm enjoying the entertainment!
Gee, thanks for stating the obvious.
I don't think that there was ever a question of that -- the numbers aren't there.
So, does that make it OK to go after or ignore a group (and I mean any candidate) just because they won't make the final difference?
Well, I'm an Indian-American, and I'm not offended by the stereotype.
I have extended family that owns gas stations.
If anything, I would have thought that the Patel Motel stereotype would have reared its head. It's more obvious
