TX-28: Moving the Ball Down the Field

Cross-posted at MyDD and DailyKos

On Thursday when the blogosphere began to contribute to the Ciro Rodriguez campaign I had no idea that the response would be this great!

In just 2 days this amazing community joined toegther to bring in over $50,000 in online contributions.  Over the weekend we have added close to $10,000 more to that.

From $2.00 to $2100 the amounts of the individual contributions varied, but the message has been the same: Candidates who run under the Democratic Party label and then sell-out their constituents, and vote against our values, will answer for their actions.

There are now 10 seperate ActBlue pages working to bring in support for Ciro and we have received countless e-mails with offers of help and support.

Again, I stand amazed at what our collective energies can accomplish and hope that you will continue to standby us as we fight to reclaim the 28th District.

For years Ciro has worked to improve life for the people of South Texas, and not for greedy corporations or special interests.  In Congress he showed us that he would defend Democratic values and principles with his voting record.  (Read Chris's take here.)

Ciro supports education as the key to the American Dream, the right for an honest day's pay for an honest day's work, and the protection of Social Security for our parents and grandparents.  Ciro's stance on these issues has earned him the Endorsement of the National AFL-CIO, Texas AFL-CIO, and the Laredo, San Antonio, Rio Grande Valley, and Austin Central Labor Councils.

I continue to be proud to be part of the Ciro Rodriguez team and look forward to answering any questions you may have.  As always, feel free to e-mail me or send you queries directly to Ciro!

One more thing...

Please, please, please make sure you add a tip for the good folks at ActBlue if and when you decided to contribute.

I can not sing their praises enough - the service they provide to Democratic candidates is remarkable!

Plus, remember that you can contribute directly to ActBlue so that they get the system up and running for state-wide candidates as well (Gov, AG, etc...)

Re: TX-28: Moving the Ball Down the Field

Tracy, you have said that the key to Rodriguez winning is making sure that turnout is especially high in Bexar County (San Antonio). But in 2004, that was not true, and Laredo (Cuellar territory) outvoted San Antonio. So you will obviously need a better turnout machine this time, cranking out every last vote in the S.A. area. How are you going to make sure San Antonio outvotes Laredo this time?

I coudn't agree more.  Let's get this seat back for someone who will actually sit in our Caucus.
