If the Democrats lose in 2010, it more than anything will not be because progressives did or did not do anything.  It likely will be because the adminstration misjudged the severity of the Great Recession, relied on Summers and Geithner, and pursued too small of a stimulus.  

People need jobs.  In the end, this adminsitration and Dem Congress will be judged on that.

I do not take the constitutional argument seriously, although this might help with Scalia's vote if it ever gets that far.

I ahve not been around MyDD much, and I like the new format.  Hard to fix the loophole through regulation is it is not in the statute.  Courts could overturn it.  The loophole was probbaly one of those good Republican ideas that Dems put in the bill.  :-)

While I get frustrated, I am still glad I supported Obama over Hillary.  My original candidate was right on the issues, but we came ot find out he had a flawed character.

Obama is to the left of Clinton, by a small amount, but you make an interesting point.
