an outsiders view of hackett v brown

To be honest, I've been a fan of Jerome and Kos for months, and Sherrod Brown may very well be the best candidate to take on DeWine, but the idea that Tim Tagaris and Jerome should post on this race with the same authority as others is preposteris.
Is it possible that their opinion would be the same whether they worked for Brown or not?
Sure.
Is it also suspect that they conveniently support the candidate who pays them?
Yes.
With Chris Bowers,DavidNYC, and Bod Brigham all great bloggers and smart people, the two employees of Sherrod Brown should leave the discussion to them.
Personally I tend to trust both of them that their opinions are not colored by their employment or personal relationships, but I do think it in poor taste for the two of them to come out soooo strongly for Brown while simultaneously claiming that their opinions are based on completely independent analyses.
Think for one moment whether Jerome, Kos, and/or Tim would criticize employees of Paul Hackett for immediately posting positive-Hackett/negative-Brown stories. I doubt whether they would conclude a paycheck from the candidate meant nothing to the writer's opinion.
So please, spare us the moral outrage that your motives are questioned, there are real reasons for that: you are EMPLOYEES of one of the candidates. Surely any fairminded person can see that there are valid questions there.
Finally, I support Paul Hackett in this debate, but think Sherrod Brown would be a great Senator too. What bothers me is that Brown supporters are attacking Hackett supporters for being not pro-Hackett but anti-Brown while at the same time they claim that Hackett is not progressive without evidence, that Hackett is too inexperienced despite ample evidence, and that Brown can raise money easier while ignoring that if not for Brown's flip-flop Hackett would easily have raised the money Brown will now take.
From my perspective a Brown-backed Hackett would be the next Senator from Ohio, but a Brown vs DeWine or a Brown-less Hackett race will result in the re-election of Mike DeWine.
Sherrod Brown could've ensured a Democratic takeover, but his personal ambition clouded his judgement and now, its a far more ambiguous race.
