by health care reform I guess you mean the current "insurance industry protection act" that is currently being proposed by the president and the democratic congress?
good find cg. I think that media types are possibly the stupidest and most useless people in America. That includes the wanna be media who blog and use their blogs to ingratiate themselves to msnbc and cnn so they can get a bit of air time. I also include dopes who think calling Clinton or any woman a mad bitch funny.
All I know is that I yelled thank you to her from my living room when I saw her say "it". I don't think she was angry, snippy or inappropriate in any way. Even men in Africa need to learn something about human rights. We do not have to accept "cultural differences" as an excuse for sexism and inequality.
I am not worried. I am not surprised. Why worry over the inevitable. I knew last year this was all going to play out this way.
What pisses me off however is that it is all set to kick in in 2013. Why? Because by the time people figure out how badly they have been screwed obama will have been safely reelected.
democrats I am assuming you are a liberal. As a liberal how can you think that anything other than medicare for all or single payer is a good solution for anyone? This plan is being called the "insurance company protection act" for very good reasons. Obama and his liberal supporters should be ashamed.
ps... the people you speak of as disinformation mobs and far right lunatics are Americans who happen to disagree with you. Some of them, many of them are democrats. Astroturf comes in both flavors you know. The Obama mob perfected the sport during last years primaries.
In addition, which version of reform are you talking about? Do you know the details of the various bills and do you know that many people will be excluded from the public option? Do you know that medicaid and medicare are going to be cut to finance this mess and that it is going to be grossly expensive and STILL leave insurance companies making obscene profits?
are you saying we are too stupid to scrutinize the bill so we should just trust the people we voted for? That is exactly how the fringe bush loonies used to think.
Thank God the Dems are too chicken sh*t to use there 60 vote majority, if they weren't they would give W2 his crappy health care lobby compromise bill without Republican support and we'd be stuck with it.
The only chance or medicare for all/single payer is for the Obama sham to fail, by any means necessary. Blue dogs, Black Caucus, craven cowardice, Republican scare tactics. What difference does it make. If BO gets his "little win", game over that's all we get.

I agree, Ron. This thing needs to go down in flames, regardless. But it would be very nice if it went down with true liberals loudly voicing the RIGHT objections to it - that it's an insurance giveaway coupled with an executive power-grab, melded to an assault on Medicare, that does nothing for the average american.

Your analysis is dead on. Which is why I crack up when the erstwhile Bushies cry,"Socialism!" Hell socialism would be better for the working class. What pathetic opposition they are. They don't attack W2's actual short comings, they go after these ridiculous straw men and it leaves them looking ridiculous.
if we get this there is no chance to get real reform. Obama is a place holder for a real democratic president. Unfortunately by then he will have lost us the mid terms.
txDem08.. it sounds good but Insurance companies as long as they are part of the system will find a way to make profits. Of course they must otherwise it makes no sense to be in business. The need to profit keep this system very expensive, companies will cherry pick states if they can not cherry pick clients.
The government will never be able to regulate insurance companies effectively. And we will still have billions wasted on administration of multiple payers.
The congressional Black caucus, the progressive caucus and the Hispanic caucus (aren't there any liberal white people anymore?) are against all of these bills. They will not let them go through without a public option. I hope they too fail. Because single payer is the only plan that is going to save out system and our economy. It is pathetic that even though most americans favor single payer the President has taken it off the table. Why is that? Could it be that he is the single largest beneficiary of insurance company campaign funds ever? In addition the rest of the blue dogs are not far behind.
Al Gore said years ago that single payer was the only solution and Hillary Clinton said that if a democratic president every had a veto proof majority that it was something we should discuss and consider. So WTF is wrong with Obama and the blue dogs?
we haven;t bailed out the majority of people. No one has gotten their jobs back. There were no safe guards against abuse put in place under Obama and whether the conservatives are hypocrites or not hardly seems the most important issue.
I have a problem with the continuing corporate hand outs under Obama. I do not give a damn about conservative hypocrisy. Liberal hypocrisy is much more troubling.

I knew a year ago not to expect real change.
At this point I am hoping " Obama reform" gets defeated so that we can have real reform in the future.
i other words, it is okay if Obama does it even though he said he wouldn't.

nice but failed attempt at deflection.
