McCain-Palin: Politics of personal detruction

Well they are after all Republicans. So it's not surprising that misogyny and ad hominem insults are greeted with a lot of glee. This writes an ad all by itself.
Well remember the infamous McCain incident? "How do we beat the bitch"? The question (incidentally asked by a woman....sure speaks volumes about her character and the people around her) was met with giggles of glee. Well here it is:
Seems like Palin (she of the new brand of feminists) has her own "bitch" problem. On January 15, 2008 Gov. Palin was guest on a radio talk show in Alaska. You know the generic radio talk show that is bound to get a bilious reaction from any self-respecting decent human being. Like most such talk shows it is hosted by two generic morons and is called the Bob and Mark Show.
So on this day the host lobs the following bomb-shells about the Republican senate majority leader in Alaska. He started out with this one:
"Well, I'm going to say what I wish you could say...Lyda Green is a bitch, and she needs to go away because she is a cancer on the progress of the state of Alaska."
Here I must add that Lyda Green is a cancer survivor. But it gets better:
"But there is more. Lester then describes Green's chair as big and cushy. A clear reference to the senator's weight. Palin laughs a third time. She's just having a grand old time... Palin was clearly enjoying every second of Lester's vicious attack on her political rival."<snip>
"Lester asks Palin point blank: 'Do you have any idea of what you did, to make Lyda Green dislike you, hate you?'[This portion of the audio can be heard in the audio and the end of the article at 6:42.] How does Palin respond? Does she do the right thing? What you would expect from a mature leader, a governor and say, "Bob, Lyda doesn't hate me..."
Raw Story has the details and audio of the whole fiasco. Oh yeah the giggle you hear when Ms. Green is called a "bitch" is the new VP nominee of the GOP....talk about a party of compassion!!
Dan Fagan another radio talk show host wrote an op-ed about this in the Anchorage Daily News:
The governor's appearance on KWHL's "The Bob and Mark Show" last week is plain and simple one of the most unprofessional, childish and inexcusable performances I've ever seen from a politician.<snip>
The Daily News opinion page addressed the governor's gaffe. They wrote "She came off looking immature herself, almost high-schoolish. It was conduct unbecoming a governor."
It was conduct unbecoming a human being, never mind a governor.
The governor's office eventually tried to spin the public relations disaster, releasing a statement reading, "Governor Palin was caught off guard by Bob Lester's reference to Senate President Lyda Green."
I don't buy it. Early on in the conversation before Palin started to crack up, Lester referred to Sen. Green as a jealous woman and a cancer. Palin, who knows full well Lyda Green is a cancer survivor, didn't do what any decent person would do, say, "Bob, that's going too far."
<snip>
The statement released by the governor's office also called Palin's action bad judgment.
But bad judgment is when you stay up late the night before a big test, order steak at a Chinese restaurant or wear blue jeans to a black tie affair.
What the governor did was wrong.
Not only did she sit by and watch a decent public servant get thrashed in front of tens of thousands of people, she actually enjoyed it.
This is our governor, for goodness sake.
Our leader. I wonder.
I recommend everyone to read this op-ed. It will give you an honest opinion and a window into the character of the GOP VP nominee.
So what does her hometown fellow GOP member have to say about her? ADN
"She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?" said Green, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?"
Did someone say Sarah Palin is a feminist??
