Does NoQuarter officially endorse McCain on Tuesday, Wednesday, ... ?
just looking at the inmates people at LackSense NoQuarter.
I only hope no Obama supporter retaliates with the article from Vanity Fair, we don't need a flame war.
The end game has started. Now we get to the really weird stuff.
You gotta wonder about these people...
If it ever is, it'll probably be a manipulated tape.
into "whitey" with some creative editing. So, "they'd be willing" will be turned into "whitey willing!"
Maybe Michelle said "Whitney" and left out the "n"--who knows?
Heh.
Why'd into Whitey.
Not much manipulation needed, just leaving off the intro and you are all set, kind of like if Hillary's remarks to the Argus Leader were only released as "In June Bobby got assassinated"
The "Whitney" just leads to dispair.
It is not recommended for those who are tone deaf, and/or for those who don't have a husband who tries to consume the world's supply of Bolivia Marching Powder up his nose.
No clue what she was actually saying. I guess I'll have to listen to the tape myself.
LackSense NoQuarter and then checking the website of the amazing Wonk.
Flowbee's Larry's version of the tape will likely be manipulated if he does release it.
and innuendo which is kind of soap opera'y'. That and there is lies all around.
I just put it up do dispel the crap before it hits, hopefully it won't show up now that I "poisoned the well against it"
And note this includes the vanity fair article as well which is horrible.
You can't dispel something that which hasn't been released. I'm skeptical as well, but you don't know what's there. Should we assume that you are so assimilated that you don't actually care if the tape is real or not? Are you a true believer who is willing to go down believing that Michelle obama would never talk like that?
Or did you invent that whole scenario where "why'd he" becomes "whitey?" Just curious. I assumed the tape never existed.
This is Larry Johnson's last-minute gambit hoping to give the SD's pause before they line up behind Obama.
It's Larry f'ing Johnson for crissakes
Larry's ex-CIA, right? A CIA agent couldn't possibly have the technology to fabricate, could they?
of both Hillary and Obama.
I am actually surprised at the Vanity Fair "hit piece" on Bill Clinton. That's kind of disgusting.
In terms of the supposed Michelle Obama tape, this rumor was started by Larry Johnson and has been spread on the internet and via FOX NEWS today by Roger Stone (who himself has never scene the tape). It sounds like it is going to be a doctored tape that can be quickly be debunked.
Very disgusting...
and that is why I blew a diary on this instead of hammering John McCain or continuing my Insult 50 State series or doing my piece on Insurgency vs Establishment or my diary on the Psychology of a troll (it is done but is on a back burner to release until 3 weeks after the primary is officially over).
Interesting he's supposedly known/had this tape for so long, and suddenly now we might see it, eh?
No, I've heard the tape and she is clearly saying "Whitey".
It's just that she means Whitey Ford.
You wouldn't think our nation would let a retired baseball pitcher shut down Medicaid, flood New Orleans, get us into a quagmire in Iraq, and frame a bunch of black teenagers in Louisiana.
But then again, this is a country that re-elected Bush
As columnist Jennifer Rubin said --
The Trinity cast of characters and Obama's reaction to them have been more revealing than more a dozen-plus debates, all the speeches, and just about anything that has happened in over a year of campaigning.
...that has come out of Trinity, Barack is still likely going to be the nominee.
So yeah, we don't need any tape either.
what they have been reduced to. The real supporters can still find stuff from the NYT and other valid sources, but the "supporters" have to dig into the RW media to find anything to say. That is because they aren't for Hillary as they are against Obama.
I do know a lot of former Edwards supporters who are totally opposed to obama = lots of Dems are. He doesn't look like a Democrat to us.
Now, we may or may not be FOR Clinton but Obama has given Democrats lots and lots and lots of reasons to be against him. Opposing Obama isn't necessarily related to supporting Clinton.
He doesn't "look like a democrat?" Are you kidding me? Have you read his positions on the issues? I mean what is it that doesn't make him a democrat?
Yep, like him wanting to vote for Justice Roberts until it was pointed out that it would be bad for political career. And him not supporting universal healthcoverage, and him being willing to talk about privitizing social security.
Anyone who doesn't count all the votes - and takes himself off of ballots at the last minute (thereby blowing the idiotic "they had to" argument) doesn't look like a Democrat to me.
I think the guy is a closet Republican and i'm certain he'll appoint anti-choice judges - that is, based on his substandard voting record, rhetoric and willingness to lie on the subject.
Also, since sooo many Edward supporters are against Obama why are all of his prominent supporters switching over to him? I have yet to meet a former Edwards supporter turned Clinton supporter.
How are we ever going to have a Black president if America doesn't permit the black community to vent anger. If any candidate doesn't ingratiate at the feet of the White community then they will be cast with the same despicable narrative we're hearing this year. "Look out Joe American, the blacks are coming for you and your children!" This "reverse-racism" tripe is some of the most ignorant crap I can imagine.
You should go read some of the things that Dr. King said. If he was still alive today (he'd be 79) and was running for President, you and those like you would shut him down for things he said. Racial issues in America will never be resolved if those of us with "majority status" can't honestly assess our own complicit or active role in systematic injustice.
Martin Luther King had real accomplishments to his name that benefitted other people. Obama has very, very little - far less than any Democrat in modern history that has gotten this far. That's his problem - having real accomplishments to your name protects you against a lot of charges. Since obama hasn't actually done much, it's hard for him to make a principled stand.
You are ignorant. Obama has far more legislative accomplishments than Hillary. Being Bill's wife does not count as a legislative accomplishment. Please do your research before spouting off such ignorance.
LOL - Prove that. Prove he has more legislative accomplishments than hillary. In point of fact, he's had two bills that he wrote and sponsored pass since he joined the US senate.
Here - you can real all about his pathetic history right here. He is a mediocre legislator at best.
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/
substance_abuse.html
Go ahead - prove me wrong. LOL Please, list the bills he sponsored that aren't on there.
Next, there is Hillary's record of accomplishment both in and out of office. She gets out of law school and does an internship at a children's hosplital and writes the ground-breaking legal brief - Children Under the Law. She becomes staff attorney at the Children's Defense Fund and is appointed to the Board. She moves to Arkansas and she opens up a legal aid clinic. This is right out of law school, she's helping poor families with their legal isssues. she gets appointed to the board of Legal Services Corporation and is quickly appointed Chair. As Chair, during the Reagan years, she not only protects the budget from proposed cuts, she manages to expand the budget by several million dollars which provides thousands more low income Americans with legal assistance. She rounds up federal funds to build healthcare facilities in rural Arkansas so that rural Arkansans have access to low cost medical care. She creates a home schooling program for toddlers that don't have access to HeadStart. She creates a micro-loan program to help low income residents start their own business. She takes on teacher testing, and is instrumental in changing the state standards for teachers. She gets to the WH, and goes to work on the Family and Medical Leave Act. She takes on healthcare and fails. She goes to work on the SCHIP which passes.
Other than making Editor of Harvard Law Review, what has Obama done, either in or out of office, to help others? What social service projects did he tackle at Trinity? And if you're going to list any bills he sponsored his final year in the Illinois senate, please establish definitively that it was not legislation championed by someone else first or assigned to him by Emil Jones in his quest to get himself a senator.
"Since obama hasn't actually done much, it's hard for him to make a principled stand."
Inadequate experience? Yah, Harvard law school and working as a community organizer. State Senator. US Senator. Ran the most successful primary campaign in Presidential history.
And ran it while up against the second most successful primary campaign in US history.
That's an incredibly spare resume for someone running for president. Community organizer was job between graduating from Columbia and going to law school - I have no idea what that has to do with anything. Editor of Harvard Law Review is nice, but what did he do of note after that? He graduated from school, went to work at civil rights firm and didn't lead one case in all those years. So funny to think obama couldn't find a single cvil rights case in all of Chicago to champion and win. Not one. Not once. Illinios state senate? They meet 55 days out of the year. Obama had no legislative accomplishments, save a couple of amendments the first five years, he was in office. Not impressive. Now he's in the US senate, and he has sponsored a total of two bills which have been signed into law.
He's done nothing that I know of since he left college that benefits other people more than him.
"He's done nothing that I know of since he left college that benefits other people more than him."
I can't argue with your interpretation of events, up to & including, the nomination he will win. You are not an uninformed voter lacking info on either candidate. You've made your mind up. Where you go from here, God knows.
You really think that if Obama had "accomplishments" that would make a difference? It was Dr. King's accomplishments that got him killed.
Most people who have ground breaking accomplishments don't get killed.
Ok, so here's your argument -
The reason that MLK could run for president without getting swiftboated with racial-fear bating was because he was accomplished (with accomplishments that, rather than getting him swiftboated, got him killed). However, unlike MLK, if Obama had accomplishments it would make it easier for him (rather than worse, like it did for MLK). So if he was a whole lot more like MLK, except also a lot less, then you wouldn't keep this race-baiting BS coming? Good argument. You win.
P.S. What happened to other champions for civil rights like Malcolm X, JFK, and Bobby Kennedy? They were also accomplished in the way that MLK was and they got killed too. Are you sure that accomplishments make things easier for black or black-sympathizing political figures?
I see nothing to do other than to wait and see if something comes out and then react with caution. This is probably bullshit, although its possible that its not. At the very least, let's all remember the Mickey Kantor debacle.
...best case scenario is that the news is, "Why the hell did you believe this? What? Are you stupid?"
This is the 21st century. You can't keep video secret anymore. Someone would show a friend and they'd show another friend and so on. The fact that not one person comes forth and claims that they've actually SEEN the tape - it's all just people who claim to know someone else who has - makes this incredibly unlikely.
So, you really think there's a "wh" video out there?
Also, if I created this diary, I would of been TR'd.
a diary on this topic it would have been one sided stating this pack of lies videotape is true.
And do I think there is one, I'd say 70-30 there is but it will be like I suggested.
All of the inmates NoQuarterians will run wild and look as dumb as the people pushing the Mickey Kantor tape.
"pack of lies" <--- This is one sided, especially since there is no video.
How do you know whether it's true or not if you haven't seen/heard the video?
Why do you think there is one?
When I googled M.O. and "whitey" no major news story came up. The wing nut Limbaugh carried the story but he too referred to it as rumor. IMO, there's no real evidence that there's a video out there.
...that she does indeed talk about Whitey.
It's a well-known fact that like many South Side Chicago residents, Michelle Obama (nee Robinson) is a White Sox fan.
What's less well-known is that she also has a soft spot in her heart for the Cubs.
Ergo, she hates the Cubs' rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals.
In the 1980s, the Cardinals were extremely successful under manager Whitey Herzog, whose small-ball philosophy propelled the Cards to one World Series win and two pennants.
Michelle Obama has never forgotten this, or the intense feelings of bitterness and hatred she experiences whenever the Cardinals are mentioned.
Someone at TUCC, while videotaping her, mentioned the St. Louis Cardinals, and she responded by saying "I hate Whitey! I hate Whiteyball! I'm going to hate Whitey until the day I die!" and then storming off, cursing Ozzie Smith as she went.
So really, it's quite understandable.
And whouldn't you know it, texasdarlin's hate blog is salivating to get their hands on it.
Ok, I read that Vanity Fair article, and all I can say is....gross.
Remind these folks that Roger Stone is the founder of the Anti-C.*.N.T. website that is a despicable and smears Hillary.
is that the same tape someone was talking about on fox.
tapes seem to just be flying around these days like the June Bug.
If I didn't know better I would say it was time to grab my niece , her rag baby and go frog gigging.
Its been nice outside.
Whitey lol , thats funny.
Thats what I used to call an old nemesis . He was so white , I used to have to drag him out for walks when the weather was sunny side up .
Roger Stone was talking about this tape since he heard it from Flowbee (Larry Johnson). Roger Stone said that he has never seen it but just heard about it from Larry.
Sounds like Larry Johnson is spreading this rumor.
Too funny if all there is is "why'd he" instead of "whitey".
...I found a link from someone who is incredibly offended... about add on superdelegates:
This SD was chosen to be a SD, after she was known to be an Obama campaign supporter. So she was just added as a SD for Maine so she can add to his numbers under the super delegate count?
Yes, it's called an add on and it's been happening for weeks now. Good job there with the paying attention thing.
"Student Guy" why did you give someone Kudos for referring to me as a "troll." Is it because you think almost everyone is a troll according to your "troll diary?"
I'm not a Obama supporter; I'm a Clinton supporter. So what? This is not MyddObama.
but there is a line between supporter and "supporter".
THE CHURCH OF HATE seems more like "supporter" than supporter.
Didn't you find Phleger's "sermon" disgusting? I did. He offends me. It is hateful, IMO. The pastor gave Phleger a "pat on the back" for his "sermon."
but to characterize a whole church based on its Pastor is a bit excessive, TUCC does good work in the community. Or is it hateful to set up AIDS minsitries. In life you have to take the bad and good, not just see the bad and freak out.
but to characterize a whole church based on its Pastor is a bit excessive,Not pastor, "pastors." Now, I reallize that Phleger was a guest pastor but the congregation was with him including the new pastor.
TUCC does good work in the community.I'm sure they do and when I saw that video, I'll I saw was hate. That does not make me a troll for my opinion, nor did I ever say that Obama is hateful.
In life you have to take the bad and good, not just see the bad and freak out.You cannot decide what everyone is suppose to feel and think.
Actually, Pfleiger is a priest. I'm not sure why people can't comprehend that.
Differen religion.
I think I'll wait and see for myself. Bush or anyone else doesn't make it any less ugly, if it happened.
Email National Review. They posted the article about it and she said Why'd they abandon those during Katrina. Is there something wrong with that because 75% of the country thought that the Bush administration abandoned the folks in New Orleans.
So this has been a Student Guy production with props to "the Wonk "for laying out a site where rumors from Flowbee Larry Johnson can be debunked.
IMO, this diary is only causing more problems for your candidate. There's no proof that there's even a video out there. FYI, since there is no video, you haven't debunked anything.
There is audio from National Review which quoted her saying it.
Welcome to Halloween in June!
The entire cast of character actors are out tonight.
Are the sides of this debate getting a little strange for a progressive blog?
my understanding is that the tape does exist, but that Michelle is referencing what an old lady said to her. So it's basically Michelle telling a story about what a woman said, including the word "whitey."
It would be as if you got me on tape telling a story about my racist cousin using the word "nigger." Sure, you'd have me on tape using the word--but it doesn't matter.
I will keep on saying this but Larry is lying. He is basing his tape on a National Review article which quotes Michelle as saying "Why'd he abandon those folks in Katrina? etc" They had a piece on her quotes in which she was blasting bush for his failures about Katrina, the war, and health care.
The whole thing sounds made up to me.
I went to that website once and there was a hateful diary about the owners of this site. They are definitely in tin foil asshatery land over there.
In 1992 the NYT was rumored to be holding a photo/video of Bill Clinton burning a flag in Moscow. Or London. Or somewhere.
Just something to keep in mind.
FUD.
Isnt it strange how much Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have in common ?
Bill C. had to deal with all the affairs stuff everybody thought would kill him but he overcame then just like Obama did Wright.
There is their natural charisma, their ability to appeal to the other side ...
Maybe thats why Bill hates Obama. He sees himself in him
Bill Clinton does not hate Obama. He doesn't hate black people. For the love of God the man has been working to bring life saving drugs to people in Africa - and guess what they are BLACK.
benjamin didn't say Bill hates black people. He said he hates Obama. There's a difference.
benjamin didn't say it but plenty of people have implied that he (and Hillary) are racist. The whole SC "Hillary didn't cry for Katrina victims" and the misrepresentation of what Bill said about Jackson definitely was intended to paint them as such.
And as I said in that other person's diary, I'll be happy to help you guys take that asshole down.
Student Guy, I see you're running wild with the Flowbee nickname. Bravo. I actually came up with it for Johnson back in March. Wonk and a few other folks picked it up and it seems to have taken off. I even saw someone on Balloon Juice referring to him as Agent Flowbee, which, IMHO, makes it even funnier.
BTW, I'm still deeply saddened that my nickname for Roger L. Simon, "Roger L. Magoo," never caught on.
I am hanging around until someone posts from LackSense NoQuarter about the tape, but Flowbee is a great name, I am glad you came up with it.
self-righteousness if he did not have the Vanity Fair hit piece relying on Monica Lewinsky's intuition about Bill Clinton's affair with Walter Mondale's daughter (yes, you read that right) on the front page. BooMan, stay above it or wallow, but don't wag you finger at others from the slime.
