So if you're going to stand up for gay marriage in Dallas but not in Lubbock, what does that say about your convictions?
If you're for gay marriage (or higher taxes or against the war in Iraq), then talk about it everywhere, not just where you think it will play well. If not, you're basically lying and trying to pretend to be something that you're really not.
Democrats will never win elections until they own up to the positions they support. Whether you like Bush or not, at least he has the guts to state his positions and then back them up with action.
I'm not sure what this man's life has to do with racism. People should know that it was not the Democrats who pushed through civil rights, it was the Republicans. Al Gore's father filibustered against the Civil Rights Act as did former KKK member Senator Robert Byrd.
Having said that, I live in Dallas, am a hard-core conservative, but I have a little different take on the situation.
First off, I want us to build a double fence from San Diego to the mouth of the Rio Grande and patrol it with soldiers, helicopters, and unmanned spy planes.
However, I have done church work with some who were illegal immigrants, I have seen the conditions of the poor in Ciudad Juarez, and I have to empathize with them. They have no hope over there. If I ask myself what I would do if I lived in such grinding poverty and couldn’t feed my family, I have to say that I would get to the US as quickly as I could.
I’m against blanket amnesty, but once the borders are closed I think that something can be done to assimilate the illegal immigrants into society and make English fluency compulsory in order to gain citizenship. Those who can’t do that should be shipped back down to Mexico where they apply for immigration legally.
The political successes of this community have been largely founded in manipulating media coverage. The two clearest examples are the John Thune bloggers in South Dakota, and the Dan Rather scandal.
Manipulating media coverage? The Dan Rather scandal was about the media manufacturing documents, for goodness' sake. As a matter of fact, the journalists who were pushing Bill Burkett as an unimpeachable witness knew months beforehand that he was a liar who changed his stories. Still they did nothing because they were willing to ignore the truth because of their hatred of President Bush.
As for the up-and-comers like Air America, if you bothered to take a look at the facts (a tough thing for liberals to do I know), you would know that their listenership isn't growing. Not to mention the fact that they are being investigated in New York for diverting federal and local funds meant for inner-city children and senior citizens -- possibly up to hundreds of thousands of dollars -- to their own coffers. Nice, caring liberals, aren't they?
And if you had bothered to check your facts a little bit more, you would have found that Michelle Malkin was a columnist and television guest commentator long before she became a blogger.
The fact is that the mainstream media is full of leftwing reporters, columnists, anchors, and opinion commentators. Do you think that they would hire yet another liberal to compete with them?
Sheesh, no wonder you liberals can't ever get anything right. You just can't face reality.
I commented upon this article at my blogsite here. Here’s a taste of things:
Let’s use a little simple logic here for any Democrats that may be lurking around here. The standard left-wing thinking floating around the web and the mainstream media right now is that the evil Karl Rove leaked Valerie Plame’s identity to Robert Novak and others and put the lives of our agents in danger. Now the Bush administration, which of course is controlled by Karl Rove since Bush is a dim-wit, is imprisoning reporters for refusing to disclose their source, which, according to Chris Bowers, is Karl Rove. It’s theoretically possible (but doubtful given the facts of this case) that the leaker could be jailed for committing a crime. So, we have Karl Rove trying to send himself to jail.
Come on, Democrats: THINK! You might actually start winning elections without having to resort to fraud if you used a little bloody common sense just every once in a little while!
So, can we ever expect Bowers to correct his wacky conspiracy theory that he reports as fact? I doubt it.

McCain is the choice of the mainstream media, who likes him because he's basically a Democrat. He'll never make it past the Republican base.
Look for Condi Rice to be the 2008 candidate.
