Edwards recently made a statement along the lines of
Congress should make it clear to the President that it will override any agreement that does not protect American jobs and American interests."
Now to me anything where a politician says that we must protect American jobs is a red flag for creating crappy situations like the bills protecting farmer's jobs. All that amounts to in my opinion is citizens with political power protecting their economic power at the expense of America. Especially poor Americans generally.(For reference see http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/22/magazi

I am interested in what other people think of Edward's statement.

I think one of the interesting questions about elections is why people support different candidates and how this could be measured.
To put it another way much has been made of the type of supporters that candidates get and how strong it is, but I haven't seen much on the reasons why people support a candidate.
For example. How much of Kerry's support was because Kerry's supporters didn't like Bush. How much of Dean's support was because others didn't like Kerry?
Now that is just the easiest question, but I am sure there could be others. I thought of this because of the difference in support I've noticed for Obama and Dean. I've noticed in the circles I travel the support for Obama is much stronger than for Dean (outside of the blogosphere). But I would be interested in knowing why.
