I went down to South Beach Loews Miami Beach Hotel last year for an engineering/battery conference at the same time the hip-hop concert was going on. Nerds meet hip-hoppers. The place was surrounded by Rolls, Mercedes, hip-hoppers and their entourages.

Disembarking from our airport bus with my nerdy husband, a Fredo-type hip-hopper was speaking to an apparently 'important one'. Spying me standing alone, he spun around and 'fell' against me - hoping to freak out the white woman and impress his superior.

I work in an inner city school - I knew all that was required was to place my hand against my chest, turn to my left, and roll my eyes ("what an asshole") at his 'boss'. Not threatened - but then, I'm in an unusual category.

I mentioned it to the person who organized the conference - and who who had paid my way. I thought it was funny at the time. However he swore that they will never have a battery conference in South Beach again, and he would let the hotel know why. They had as many attendees as the hip-hoppers, meaning this idiotic move was a major loss to Loews.

Misogynists will eventually shoot themselves in the feet. And these guys might have a hard time reserving rooms there now.

Bridgeport Board of Education also blocks Kos, under 'profanity'.

I went to the Lamont Bridgeport headquarters today and the place was crowded - alot of union people and others, although they were sent out to do foot brigade. More could be used for the phones.

I can't find an Alex Hoffman of Boston from Google - maybe someone else is a better HamGoogler than I am.

Absolutely- he was the same guy who heckled Lorenzo and Sue (myself) in Bridgeport. Aldon - great work.
