The Countdown begins

Given the efficacy of Sean Hannity in shaping the agenda for the Clintonistas on here and the supposedly Obama-leaning MSM (see: Wright, Ayers, etc.) I watched H&C last night to try and find out what tomorrow's smear will be, the conclusion--- Obama attended the Million Man March!

Now, before I get to the meat of this smear, I need to point out that Hannity read Obama's comments on the March, brought on one of the right's patented minority commentators who hate on their own group (see: Malkin, Michelle) in this case Ward Connerly and then got shutdown as Connerly actually agreed with virtually all of Obama's analysis of the March. Obama in 1995 did what he's been doing all along, calling out the fringes of both sides and criticizing some speakers at the MMM for fomenting racial hatred and division, he then called for AAs to lift themselves up, Hannity of course read this in a tone which suggested Obama was calling out the "white Devil" which made it pretty hilarious when his handpicked AA sockpuppet said Obama was prescient.

The meat of this smear seems to be that Obama attended the Million Man March, Wright attended the Million Man March, Farrakhan was a sponsor of the Million Man March, and thus Obama agreed with everything Farrakhan or anyother speaker said at the March (yes, I realize that this smear directly contradicts what Obama actually said about the march at the time but hey intellectual consistency has never been Hannity's strong suit he makes Rush look like Mencken and O'reily like O'Rourke). The obvious subliminal hint is that Obama is Black and will invade the capital with those scary people (probably make "Who Shot Ya" into the new national anthem and replace "Hail to the Chief" with "Big Pimpin'" -- though I doubt conservatives have ever heard "Who Shot ya").

And so I'm left with the question how long until the first diaries begin to appear denoucnign Obama for attending the Million Man March?

Re: The Countdown begins

I'm trying to understand the smear....Is there a problem with attending the million man march?  Wasn't that suppose to be a good thing?

I'm a Hillary supporter, but I don't see anything wrong with this (unless I'm missing something)....

Re: The Countdown begins

There's nothing to understand, because it reeks of racism.

Racism is the sickness of deranged and illogical people and a cornerstone of the GOP.

The Million Man March was a political march convened by Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan in Washington, DC on October 16, 1995. Minister Benjamin Chavis Muhammad was the National Director of the Million Man March.

Re: The Countdown begins

I usually enjoy listening to Hannity, if only to laugh at just about everything he says but I find during election years I just can't tolerate it. I mean if a supporter of the Republican nominee calls you out for your Obama bashing and spends the segment defending Obama over supporting his candidate you've really jumped the shark.

Re: The Countdown begins

Right "in shaping the agenda for the Clintonistas".  I mean i understand.  After BO lose on tuesday this is one of the narratives that BO supporters will push.  Or one of several.

The first one is the Clinton's are not real democrats and come on that is what you are saying.  That is hannity is shaping this for HRC and then a priori is in league with the HRC.

The only smear i see is the one you are pushing against HRC.  And you wonder why HRC supporters get pissed off. How many democrats do you want to run out of the party.

Re: The Countdown begins

Well he has a point, and a very sad one.

When the disgusting footage showed up of Terry McAulife praising Fox news for being fair and balanced there were countless people here defending Fox news.

You get Hillary to say she is ready to Obliterate 50 million people if the country fires nuclear weapons that dont even exist, and then the next day everyone defends what is a WELL KNOWN NEOCON talking point (ie Lieberman/Cheney)

how can you be suprised?

Even yesterday a Diarist was supporting Ann Coulter.

Now either there are a lot of RNC operatives on this board, or a lot of people need counseling ASAP.

Re: The Countdown begins

Fun tip: Smears are more effective when your targets don't have to squint to see your point behind mangled syntax and grammar.

To the people who upvoted this: I can accept that you support Hillary Clinton, but why do you hate the English Language?

To the writer:

Right. "In shaping the agenda for the Clintonistas".  I mean, I understand.  After Barack Obama loses on Tuesday this is one of the narratives that Barack Obama supporters will push... Or one of several.

The first one is that Clinton supporters are not real democrats. Come on! That is what you are saying.  If Hannity is shaping this for Hillary Rodham Clinton then de facto he is in league with Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The only smear I see is the one you are pushing against Hillary Rodham Clinton.  And you wonder why Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters get pissed off. How many democrats do you want to run out of the party?

See? Much more effective attack...okay, it's still not very well constructed. But much more legible!

Re: The Countdown begins

And why do you feel the need to insult someone.  Just asking.  I mean should i really take criticism from sone one like you!!!  What exactly have you done to stand in judgement of me.

I understand you have a computer but what else. The funny thing is my guess is you have never accomplished shit.  But you can set the record straight anytime. Because if you have you would not have posted such low class BS.

A juvenile diary.  Try to be resentful in life.

Try to be less resentful, that is.  I am hoping for your happiness. :)

Re: The Countdown begins

Well Bob, we will just have to see.

I have seen some of the most insane dialog come out in the last few weeks.

I have seen almost every value we hold as Democrats attacked and belittled.

I REALLY hope that that the diarists don't start on the million man march, I have faith in our people but after seeing Democrats, of all people attack Reverend Write how can I be surprised if they start to attack Barack for this issue.

Like I said I have seen people feign praise for neocons, fox news, war criminals etc.

I have also seen people completely reject MAJOR SERIOUS issues because they are simply not a part of the HRC stump message.

Look for the Condimustgo.com post that was put up.

The first conversation was how Condi wasn't so bad and we should let it go.

Now why would a democrat want to shy away from prosecuting torturers?

We agree.  I find it disturbing.  As I have said before, this is the first time in my adult life that I find myself feeling genuinely alienated (not simply disagreeing) with the state of this party.  I don't really understand which values "we" hold in common anymore.

Re: The Countdown begins

How am I being resentful? I think I'm asking a legitimate question, especially pertinntet given that Stephanopolus asked a question in the first broadcast debate that was fed to him directly by Sean Hannity.
