• Obama probably helped Caprio with his statement.   But changeagain is a little tiring with his one note.  He know any other tunes?

And for the record, SEIU Rhode Island endorsed Chafee.  And the Gov endorsement is a state call, not the International Union's. And the White House political director was the political director of Local 1199 in New York, not the International Union

The largest union in RI, AFSCME, is staying neutral in the Gov's race.  But RI NEA and RI AFT-the big nurses union there- are also supporting Chafee. And Caprio is mad at labor for defeating his brother, a legislator, in the primary this summer.

  • It's not new- it came to power with Clintonism in the 90's--  the "3rd Way"- might be an ok check mechanism in a socialist/statist society, but it was devasting to the Democratic Party here.  Obama is actually a little bit of a tilt left from that.

  • What we need are the names of the 9 Republicans who voted against "free market competition". Need to throw them to the wolves of the base. Let's see some Ron Paulites primary them or do they ( the small government/free market folks) not mean what they say..

Who can be surprised?   In China , the Murdoch Empire echoes the Chinese Communist Party line.  They even eliminated the BBC from their satellite service in their agreement with the Beijing regime, so there are no pesky independents that irritate the Celestial Empire.

Classic Soviet disinformation.   Why do we allow her to do Putin's work and divide America?

No way he went to Argentina.  It's too near the edge of the earth. He would have been worried about falling off.

So they were against the stimulus before they were for it?

  • comment on a post Howard Dean for HHS over 3 years ago

Need to think about this one.  Gov Dean should certainly be on the short list..  But I remember his mixed record with the Dems in the VT legislature.  Some MDs aren't very collegial when dealing with folks they view as less knowledgeable.  But he certainly grew in stature as DNC Chair..and learned to work well with very differing viewpoints..

  • comment on a post Dominating the News over 3 years ago

It's not Team Obama that's doing the leaks. when the FBI calls doing a background check on some possible nominee and talks to 100 colleagues, etc. , it's those people who run to their buddies in the media with news about vetting.

We need to be pushing the Jindal write-in in Louisiana...   AS in "Real Republicans don't waste their vote for McCain, they write in the Governor!"

You're on the right track here. ACORN is the victim of fraud.  They've expanded so fast they don't have enough trained supervisors and mid management. When people are paid bounties per form or have quotas to meet, and figure out no one's really paying attention, or have collusion with their immediate supervisor, then some are going to take advantage. It's certainly not to ACORN's advantage to turn in the Dallas Cowboys roster- BTW-how sexist-where are the cheerleaders?- it just diminshes the credibility of ACORN. Also not to be overlooked is ring wing plants in ACORN registration teams-especially in NV and IN where McCain's team know they  can only win with voter supression and this helps justify it.

  • comment on a post College Republicans: A $4.7M Direct Mail Scam over 3 years ago

I'm sorry you published this.  Some of their donors might actually have a concerned family member get them to stop wasting millions of dollars for a right wing personal enrichment scheme and actually donate the money to GOP campaigns... College Reps are a great diversion of resources away from real campaigns/

  • comment on a post National Review: Palin should bow out over 3 years ago

in her withdrawing.  1st- there are 51 sets of election laws governing this- replacement on ballots. 2nd. Six states are already voting early now. Absentees are already being sent everywhere where the local Sept primary results have been certified. Now if your state has you vote for (in small print)" Electors Pledged to " (then large print)John S McCain and Sarah Palin, likely Ok to count towards a replacement. but if it's their names alone- up in the air. States usually allow for a replacement in case of death, but not for dropping off.  In '02, MN GOP S of S ruled the 30,000 plus absentees for Paul Wellstone could not be counted towards DFL replacement Walter Mondale nor be replaced by the County Clerks. . We were ferrying the disabled to Polling Stations as MN only allowed you to void an absentee by showing up in person to vote. Obviously out of staters and GIs lost their vote.

  • to compare "frankly0" to a troll. I know a number of trolls and some are quite decent. We really need a new category for his ilk.
