Anthony the new Trippi?

SO let me get this straight:

This guy ANthony has a my space page with the BarackObama name.. thats IT! something that takes 2 minutes to do.. then people want to be BarackObama's friend so he accepts them by clicking accept 160,000 times over a few months

THAT IS IT FOLKS!

and for that he should be paid?

its a standard myspace program...he did not web design or anything of the sort

he reminds me of trippi .. when dean started losing trippi bailed out slamming the door... then he thought the deaniacs would follow him.. no one did

this guy Anthony has a lot of nerve trying to trade on someone else's name and make money of it

i don't understand how anyone could think obama is not entitled to his myspace domain or why he should have to pay anthony one dime..

myspace is a community not a money making venture..

i just signed up as obama's friend for the first time..

Re: Anthony the new Trippi?

plus,

myspace even gave him the option of transferring and keeping all his friends and all the content on a new url. It just would not be named barackobama.

9-0 in the poll so far...

This was bone-headed by the Obama campaign. He needs to stop trying to Sistah Souljah the Netroots. Obviously, Anthony did something of value for Obama -- how many times have we heard it reported that Obama has so much support on Myspace? -- and he deserves reasonable compensation for it.

But instead, we see more disrespect from the Obama campaign toward the people who make up the real grassroots of the Democratic Party. I think he has too many ex-Clinton people working for him.

Huh?

Why does he deserve money? I deserve money for blogging about California politics for the last two years, but I didn't send Phil Angelides a bill. If you volunteer to do something, you can't ask money for it later.

Also, appropriating somebody's name is well, confusing for the consumer.

Obama's campaign wants something Anthony built.

So pay him for it.

Re: Anthony the new Trippi?

the answer is the guy shouldn't be paid

but Obama's campaign should have paid him

After seeing the shitstorm this caused the point was proved that sometimes it is better to be "extorted" than to fight over it, the campaign simply should have paid him to avoid what bshould have obvious. If that asshole and I will call him that simply stated he was disappointed in this fine, but to say he's n pw not voting for Obama kind of proves the "extortion" arguement to begin with.
