While Dennis Kucinich Plays Political Games, Children Suffer

Using poor children as pawns is the nastiest sort of partisan politics.  That Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), once a poor child himself, would stoop to this level by voting against the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) shows that his desire to become president has surpassed his ability to support progressive values.

good

Good luck to you. I really want Kucinich to be knocked out for good. He's running a perpetual 'presidential' campaign, it's stupid. He needs to work.

Re: While Dennis Kucinich Plays Political Games, C

I thought this was really lame by Kucinich.  He's like the ultimate purity troll.  And I agree with you that his vote mattered, because of the importance of showing strength against the threatened veto.  Every vote helps with that.

I have a couple friends in the district and I've encouraged them to check out your campaign.  I think they deserve an actual representative in Congress as opposed to a perpetual Presidential candidate.

There was one item in your HuffPo diary that really caught my eye:

On the eve of the sixth anniversary of the September 11th attacks, he was the only member of Congress to vote against honoring the fallen heroes of that dreadful day. He did so because the resolution didn't mention that September 11th had been used by the Bush Administration as a pretext for the Iraq War.

If that's an accurate description, I find it just amazing.

Re:

An outrage how Kucinich handled himself here.   Is it because Hillary Clinton was the driving force behind S-CHIP?  So, we are going to vote down everything that brings us closer and closer to progressive values because it does not go ALL THE WAY?  How ridiculous is that?

Kucinich is a non-factor for the nomination, but beyond that, I truly hope that these types of votes serve as a wake-up call to purists who cut their noses to spite their faces.   Have we not learned from the past?
