McConnell Still Ignoring His Own Massive Failure

Crossposted from Hillbilly Report.

Listening to Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi definately brings out a contrast in leadership. While Ms. Pelosi as Speaker of the House is trying in difficult situations to clean up a huge mess left behind by failed Republican Rule during the Bush years, and all Mitch McConnell can do is blame someone else for the problems he himself and his greedy, visionless party have created.

Ms. Pelosi spoke today on real solutions to real problems, Healthcare, our economy, and creating new green industries while all McConnell could do is blame Democrats for problems he was instrumental in causing.

Ms. Pelosi spoke on the obvious:

"I do think the health care bill is a stimulus package. I do believe the energy bill was, (with the) creation of new green jobs, a jump start," Pelosi said on CNN's "State of the Union."

She said Congress should "not worry about doing" another purely economic stimulus package.

"One thing is for sure, if we hadn't done the stimulus package, the unemployment rate would be even higher," Pelosi said. "I would rather just stick with the initiatives we have, get it out there faster if we can, but not worry about doing another stimulus package."

Indeed, the Energy Bill this time was something besides Corporate Welfare to the Energy and Oil companies rammed through in secret by Dick Cheney and Mitch McConnell. Instead of the same old failed policies that enrich men like Dick Cheney and Mitch McConnell a new vision was used to try and create new industries that would benefit all Americans.

Ms. Pelosi also spoke on the simple truth. Without the stimulus package we would be mired in the Republican Depression of 2009, caused by the greed and irresponsibility of men like Mitch McConnell who rubber-stamped the failed policies of the Worst President in American history. While times are still hard, the economy is showing signs of recovery, and patience is warranted.

And Speaker Pelosi is exactly right on Healthcare working as a stimulus. If costs are brought down in the Healthcare arena then that will means billions of more dollars for small businesses and the American consumer to spend that are currently tied up in a failed system Republicans like McConnell desperately seek to defend.

For his part, McConnell did what he does best and that is show his complete idiocy and hypocrisy:

But Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), also on "State," said President Barack Obama's economic stimulus package was a "failure."

"The stimulus was a big mistake. I think we can fairly safely declare it now a failure," McConnell said on CNN's "State of the Union.""It was sold to us as something that was going to jolt the economy, that was going to hold unemployment to 8 percent. Now we're going over 10 percent."

And once more as a citizen of Kentucky I must apolegize to the whole enlightened world for the travesty that is only known as Mitch McConnell. The real failure is what McConnell was all for while his god-king was still in office, the banking bailout. These folks, led by McConnell and Bush took hundreds of billions of dollars they were supposed to use to stimulate the economy and put it in their pockets.

Furthermore, the real failure was six years of Republican rule. McConnell and the Republicans in all their hypocrisy seem to forget it was their President, their Congress and their policies that crashed the economy off a cliff. If the policies McConnell endorsed earlier this year would have been followed, we would be in a full-blown depression right now. Of course, McConnell and all the greediest and least patriotic among us would be doing just fine.

McConnell and the Republicans are like a five year old child who raided the cookie jar, ate all the cookies then smashed the cookie jar in the floor and the next day wants to cry that someone took all the cookies and did not replace them, and destroyed the jar they were taken from.

Look at the Republicans in Congress's approval rating Mitch. Your lies are catching up to you!!
