John Boehner Continues Ultimate Republican Hypocrisy

The current Republican hypocrisy on the Economy is simply mind-boggling. Foremost among a myriad of hypocrites in John Boehner, who is speaking on what he sees as the Democratic failure to rescue the economy. What he is not speaking on is the fact that were it not for his party's "leadership" and rubber-stamping the failed policies of the Worst President in American History, the economy would not need rescuing.
Yes, now Boehner is acting all self-righteous about the economy he was instrumental in steering off a cliff. He even used his selective memory to attack Rahm Emanuel today:
House Minority Leader John Boehner is having fun with Rahm Emanuel's comment that Democrats have "rescued the economy.""Now, I'm sure that the 9.5 percent unemployment rate that we have in our country today and from most economic experts on its way up don't believe that we've rescued the economy," Boehner said in a House floor speech this morning. "The 11.1 percent unemployment rate that we have in Ohio, I'm sure those people are looking up today wondering, wait a minute, the President is going to say we rescued the economy? I don't think so."
Boehner's comments fit right in with the Republican protests over the past few days where they've walked up to the House microphones and asked "where are the jobs?"
"Not only has the stimulus not worked and the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America," Boehner said. "I don't believe that the economy has been rescued."

Well, of course it has not been rescued yet Mr. Boehner. The damage left by yourself and the rest of George W. Bush's shameless enablers who picked the pockets of the American people was particularly deep, and the measures taken thusfar have merely prevented the Republican Depression we would be mired in had McCain won and you got your way.
Where was all this worry when John Boehner was pushing the bailout for the banks at the behest of his hero George W. Bush?:
West Chester Congressman John Boehner is calling on his colleagues to approve the $700 billion bailout bill to help turn around the country's banking problems."We face a crisis, and if we don't act and we don't act quickly, we're going to jeopardize our economy," Boehner, the Republican House Minority Leader told ABC News.
Yes, Boehner was all about bailing out the bankers who took hundreds of billions from American taxpayers to circulate and revive the economy, but instead pocketed the money and immediately started doling out huge bonuses to their failed executives who should have been fired for running their banks into the ground.
But of course Boehner voted against stockholders getting to vote on executive compensation:
Voted NO on allowing stockholder voting on executive compensation. To amend the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to provide shareholders with an advisory vote on executive compensation [and as part of that process, fully disclosing executive compensation].
Proponents support voting YES because:We should not deprive the public, the stockholders, from being able to do anything meaningful once they find out about scandalous levels of executive compensation or board compensation. Everyone talks about the corporate board as the remedy. But the board is often a part of the problem, being paid huge amounts of money for showing up once or twice a year at meetings.
Give the stockholders a meaningful remedy. Once you get the mandatory disclosure put in place by previous legislation, we are saying the stockholders should be allowed to have a referendum on that and not have a runaround by the board.

But of course while voting that Executives who crashed our economy should get paid whatever they see fit, when it came time to give low-wage workers a raise so they could contribute to our economy, Boehner was all for regulating salaries:
Voted NO on increasing minimum wage to $7.25.Increase the federal minimum wage to:
$5.85 an hour, beginning on the 60th day after enactment;
$6.55 an hour, beginning 12 months after that 60th day; and
$7.25 an hour, beginning 24 months after that 60th day.
Proponents support voting YES because:We have waited for over 10 years to have a clean vote on the minimum wage for the poorest workers in this country Low-wage workers had their wages frozen in time, from 10 years ago, but when they go to the supermarket, the food prices are higher; when they put gasoline in the car, the gasoline prices are higher; when they pay the utility bills, the utility bills are higher; when their kids get sick, the medical bills are higher. All of those things are higher. They are living in 2007, but in their wages they are living in 1997.

So, let me get this straight. Boehner and the hypocrites in the Republican Party are frustrated that Democrats are having to clean up the mess they created with the economy. They are all for allowing the bankers and Corporate America, the very folks whose greed and irresponsibilty crashed the economy pick it clean once again.
However, when it is time for stockholders to have a say in how much the Executives who crashed the economy get paid for crashing the economy, this particularly disgusting brand of hypocrites is against it. When it comes time to give millions of Americans a raise so they can contribute to the economy, these Republican greed-meisters are all against it. As if crashing our economy was not bad enough, Republican hypocrites like Boehner insist on adding insult to injury.
Listening to this narrow-minded, greedy bunch of hypocrites trying to score points on they economy that they themselves crashed is like listening to Pinnochio complain about liars.
