No one ever claimed there were no earmarks in this bill. Obama said there were no earmarks in the Stimulus and that next years spending bill (this was a hold over from last year) would contain no earmarks.
If we even get in the mid 300's I'll be so pleased. McCain has MADE this a choice for America between idealogies - conservative or progressive. If America gives a clear, overwhelming victory to Obama, the message will be clear. Reagonomics are a lie we aren't willing to believe anymore. I'm so excited.
I can't wait to hear McCain explain why he believes that the bi-partisan Annenburg (as in rightwing Republican leader) foundation is "radical." That should be some interesting verbal/mental gymnastics.
She said things that don't reflect her campaign. She talked about the need for bigger government oversight, and smaller government. She came out and said she wouldn't answer questions. She read talking points. There is no way that independents would be swayed by her crap last night.
Typical? What's typical is this post. No one minds balance on Obama. Go check out TalkLeft. They aren't falling at his feet. But every post from you is more BS about how he can't win or can't lead. So don't tlak about "typical" and act like we're drinking kool-aid because we're sick of your constant, relentless attacks on our candidate.
I agree. This notion that this is just a fat-cat wall street issue is crazy. My parents (who have worked hard and managed their money well) have lost $10,000 in the last week and a half from their retirement fund.
I have lost 10 - 15% of the value in a mutual fund my wife and I set up to save for international adoption.
They need to sell it as aid to the middle class which is "too big to fail." Bailing out wall street and ignoring main street is not how anyone wins elections. If Pelosi would get a spine we could get this done.
If this shift back is anything like the move toward McCain, I'd expect to see the states move back toward Obama in a couple of days. It was ironic that two days ago, when those of us on the tubes saw the shift coming, the MSM was reporting like crazy that the map had "shifted." Unless something happens between now and Monday or Tuesday of next week, I'd say we're going to see it shift again.
She initially said it about Palin, but then went on to say in a "correction" that McCain, Obama, and Biden are also unqualified to run HP. Who knows where she's headed with all of this.
I love it every time she says anything. It's awesome. The fact that they rolled her out last night, the same day Palin talked about "Golden Parachutes" was hilarious.

I completely agree that there is a difference between the two. I don't consider myself a socialist, but John McCain probably thinks I am one.
Have you read or heard of Jesus for President? It is a pretty great treatment of the same issues you address here.
Whoops...

I am very angry today.

For me, in Indiana, it is a constant source of irritation.
Hoosier here. Just convinced my long-time republican backing (but never voting) roommate to register and vote for Obama.
