While watching a youtube video I noticed this John McCain ad on the page.
Was this ad leaked? It cleearly indicates that Joe Lieberman is part of McCain's "team."
Does this mean that Joe Lieberman will be McCain's VP or am I just crazy?

Whatever benefit Lieberman gives McCain with independents (if any) will be easily outdone by the depression in voter turnout from the religious right.

Joe Lieberman is a pathetic old mule with no charisma. He shows no fire. He just stands behind McCain and corrects him.
Lieberman would be a catastrophe for McCain. And all possible matchup polls show a McCain-Lieberman ticket to be a disaster.
That said, I'd love to see a real floor fight at the GOP convention if Lieberman is picked.
I think McCain/Lieberman could win the votes of many Clinton Democrats, but it might split the Republican Party in two. And as you observe, there is a chance that the Repub delegates reject Lieberman on the floor vote, which would end McCain's candidacy.
Well, that's a relief.
By the way, McCain includes things in his platform that are antithetical to everything Clinton believes in. He won't make our health care better, he wants to make abortion illegal, and unless you're very rich he's not going to help your tax bill like Obama will. Are you sure Lieberman's going to help that?
I agree with McCain and Lieberman fully on foreign policy. I feel that Bush was too dovish.
Obama is much better than McCain on domestic policy, while McCain is much better than Obama, IMO, on foreign policy. Lieberman is perfect.
The difference for me right now is Joe Biden.

We should stay in Iraq as long as we need to, not only to fix Iraq, but to deal with Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.

Yeah, I think it's just an attempt to look bipartisan. If I recall correctly, it ran quite a bit on fivethirtyeight.com (they run a TON of McCain ads over there).
Not that I wouldn't absolutely LOVE for Lieberman to be the VP pick, so I could stop worrying about the election for the next two months as McCain would be toast...but I'm not going to get my hopes up based on this.
It may mean nothing but I just can't find a reason why McCain would put Joe Lieberman in an ad with him that says "Join OUR Team" unless he was his running mate.

Actually, word has it that it comes down to either MN Governor Tim Pawlenty and TX Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. It is known the McCain campaign had a meeting today on the matter.
I personally think he will choose Pawlenty.

And now Drudge Report is reporting McCain has in fact chosen his VP.
Pawlenty would be great. It might put Minnesota more in play, but Biden will tear him apart. It will be Dan Quayle Part Two... Oh kill two birds like with Allen, take out the VP and destroy a potential future nominee.
I think it became pretty obvious that Romney was out of the running once they started running those Biden ads. Of course, if this is all a head fake and they do in fact choose Romney, we then know for sure they are the most incapable campaign in human history.
I don't think he will choose Hutchison because she is pro choice and does not support the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. Republicans will go nuts if she is the VP nominee, not to mention it looks like she is gearing up for running for TX Governor. Pawlenty will be a safe choice and the choice everyone thought McCain will make since day one of McCain's campaign.
The Republicans would never forgive him.

McCain has chosen his VP and will inform him/her on Thursday. He will then roll out his choice in OH, MO and PA.
The GOP nominee-in-waiting will move to immediately change the campaign conversation from Barack Obama's football stadium acceptance speech Thursday to the new Republican ticket, to be revealed at a noontime Friday rally in a Dayton, Ohio, basketball arena. McCain and his running mate will then travel by bus to Pennsylvania, where they'll hold an outdoor event at a minor league baseball stadium in Washington County, just southwest of Pittsburgh. On Sunday, the duo will head to suburban St. Louis for another event to be held at a minor league baseball stadium, this one in O'Fallon, Mo.
Actually, according to Politico, there is NOTHING on Saurday. The rally at noon in Dayton on Friday, then (presumably Friday evening) in SW PA (this is only a couple hours on I-70 by bus). The next scheduled stop is SUNDAY in MO. That gives plenty of time to travel by plane either Friday night or Sunday morning and do nothing on Saturday.
I'm sure that the ad is simply targeted at independents, wavering Dems, and the few people out there who respect Lieberman. He can't pick Joe, the Republicans will freak. It also seems unlikely to me that he would pick a woman, for the same reason My guess would be one of the safe choices - Pawlenty, Romney, or some no name from VA/OH.
