It's still fairly early in the process and polls like this do give some indication of where the activists are, which is important in that they are frequently leading indicators and help push regular voters in their direction.
This, along with the Georgia strawpoll, the poll of the California DP ExecCom, and the Wisconsin DP Convention and Wisconsin Fighting Bob Fest Day strawpoll are indications that underneath the low-information national pollees is a groundswell of activist support for John Edwards. I know from personal experience that we were the only grassroots group at our County Party fundraiser and the only one in our Labor Day Parade.
There ought to be at least one industrial state in the front tier. I don't care if it's my state or not, but there should be one, and I can't think of a better one than Michigan.

Seriously, Dodd is my #2. He's been a great Senator and I admire the guy -- FMLA is one of my favorite pieces of legislation in the past 20 years. Even shook his hand and told him that and gave him a thanks as he jumped into his car at YKos.

Let's be honest.
Obama has no national union endorsements.
Hillary has 4.
Edwards has 4
Edwards so far has 10 SEIU state councils = 1 million members of about 1/2 of the SEIU.
Labor may like Obama just fine, but he's way back in fourth place (to even Dodd who has national firefighters).
I hate to be blunt, but this is really horribly written. Did you mean to confuse folks, or was it on accident.
In short, folks from Minn, Michigan and Ohio SEIUs can come to Iowa. Folks from Obama's Illinois can't. Was that so hard?
Now, we wait and see about Nevada (then California's 600,000 SEIU members can go there) and NH.
Any chance you see the irony of your comment being right above your sig line?
Now, that's a real "major offensive."
Edwards has always taken public financing. He took it during his 1998 run for the Senate in NC and his 2004 run for the POTUS.
Welcome to the team!

Looks like some good reviews! Congrats.
Great stuff David. I'd cut out the part about "lead an effort to rid the world of nuclear weapons," but other than that -- dead on.
Yeah, any real poll right now would be
Clinton: 15
Obama: 12
Edwards: 7
Other: 3
Undecided: 63

Edwards worked hard on his bill to allow AMericans to reimport drugs from Canada. That helps seniors.
This was a great series. I'll pass it all along to the local folks I know.
Awesome, since chances are all this money will be wasted as Obama won't win any of the front four primaries and will likely drop out before February.
