• I basically agree with you, NeoLotus, but I think your tone is not helping the cause.

I was inspired by the way Chris Bowers talked about the importance of field, and I got involved and am now a frequent field volunteer as well as a precinct captain and a local committee member.

The point should be that this really matters and so people should want to help.  I wonder whether the approach that Mike is suggesting might also be a way to get more people to listen that message.

  • All good points, Steve.

We need to nudge and cajole, if we try to push we'll just look foolish and invite a backlash.

The calculus will change a bit if we stomp Holy Joe.  If not, we'll be in the back of the bus for at least another cycle.

Fantastic idea.  I have serious doubts that it'll work but, hey, it never hurts to try.

  • I check MyDD regularly for their take on the polls and the status of lots of local races.  The coverage is great and the activism is inspiring.

I was one of the first 29 contributors but I'll be donating again since Matt didn't get quite enough folks to pony up.

C'mon folks -- you drop $4.00 every day for a latte (you know you do), so why not $8.00 or $12.00 for a motivated activist in Connecticut who will give us all an eye on the ground in the late stages of the race??  Give more if you can swing it, but any donation is a big deal (imagine if 500 readers donated $4.00 today: Matt would be beyond his goal already).

By the way, I'm also volunteering on the ground in Virginia.  Please be sure to do canvassing or phonebanking for your local Democratic candidates.  Voting is not enough!
