The strutting peacocks will continue to regurjitate the "surge" talking point until it becomes glaringly obvious the escalation is escalating the conflict in the ME.
I blogged something about this the other day. Good to know I had it pretty well right. Didn't think of the Alliance of the Ignored angle. Mostly justed pissed at losing at the hands of the beltway boys more interested in taking campaign contributions out of our pockets and putting them in theirs, with no reckoning on the losing strategies.
I'm voting. I haven't voted for years. Didn't seem like much point. Then 2000 happened. Sheesh. Then '02 and '04. I told myself, maybe I should vote and stuff. I got a computer and found the blogs...even got one myself.
I registered, got all three of my kids registered, to any party they wanted, as long as it was Democrats. I got about 20 of my neighbors registered. You see, I work with a bunch of rightards, so I had to cancel their votes. Hee hee.
Thank you President Bush for showing me the importance of doing my civic duty.
Ad guy here. Five years newspaper, several political campaigns etc.
It doesn't matter what medium you use, but what I learned is one-third to one-half of the space is the dominant theme. Why should you use something you are not using right now? Advertising is about new customers. If you are going to swipe somebody elses customers, you better give them a damn good reason for doing so.
Funny, I've been sorta thinking along the same lines. I have not read Soros' book, and have not nearly the time to read all that I should. You see, I am supplier of our nations addiction. Most of my time is spent in solitude, and I have reached vaguely the same conclusions as the most excellent poster of this article and probably Soros as well, all by myself.
This means two things. I am not a complete idiot, nor a brilliant genius. I drive a truck in the oilfield and know these things too. I think there may be others who know as well.
Outstanding work in this post. Good on you. Vote on November 7, Republicans vote on the 8th.
I thought that Delay (R-Abramoff) controversial Texas redistricting placed Texas-22 into a republican vulnerable position. Delay, falling victim to his own hubris, gerrymandered TX to protect others. The Hammer was bulletproof and needed no such 'safe seat.' Hammer, meet nail.
Tom Delay (R-Abramoff) bows out. I must remind myself that schadenfreud is a bad thing. But not as bad as a hired killer headed for the crossbar motel.
Since I'm new to the online world (6 mos) and an even newer blogger (2 weeks) I'm internally grappling with such issues. With a newspaper background (years ago) I am keenly aware of the extremely small newshole available. For this reason I let MSM slide for years for inadequate coverage of important issues. No longer. Cable has opened the newshole dramatically and they still miserably fail to shine light on catastrophic breaches of the public trust. Early in Rush's career he would counter flak on not bringing on guests and providing balance by pounding on his desk and saying "I am balance." This is the ethic that I enjoy on the internet. Knowledge and the sharing thereof.

Bushlite? Neocon claptrap scare-a-thon. (shakes head in dismay) How pathetically weak.
It took a woman to make a man out of England.
Margaret Thatcher
Maybe it will take a woman to give balls to the democratic party.
Go Nancy, I'm pulling for you.

It will get worse, much worse.
Sorry to be such a downer, but you asked.

Houston, I think we have a problem.

Try this: Spring and summer sale. Come see us.
Vote for me because I'm rilly sweet.
Both are fragile budget breakers.

This is why they have to steal elections, they just don't have the numbers to win outright.
Certainly Delay is a symbol. You can't put shit back in the elephant

Hired killer refers to his previous occupation as an exterminator. ie pest control.
Crossbar motel refers to prison.
