While I disagree with your position, I can imagine your pain. I suggest you and all those that agree with you, place your left hand on your bible and raise your right hand to god and swear before all that you will not use or allow your children to use any medical treatment derived from embryonic stem cell research. Perhaps you can work with your pastor in getting your church and other churches to also take this pledge.
Yeh right - (liberal) women are getting pregnant just so they can have the pleasure of an abortion. Do McCain et al ever frame any issue honestly? Are they for any women's rights?
Spot on, as are Generals Clark and Gard. Being a hero or a patriot does not qualify one to be president. And putting party over country, as many in the GOP have done in recent yrs, certainly doesn't.
Very well said. But, in spite of 5-deferment-Cheney's attack on Kerry, it will be tough to tarnish McCain's war hero image. (And yes, I served, including 16 mos in Korea.)
Whatever happened to "no religious test"? And the hell of it is, all the posturing is displaying little in the way of ethics or morality, let alone "Christian" charity or tolerance.
Some help please. A couple weeks ago I read of a poll that showed Hillary and Guiliani in a virtual dead heat. I dismissed it at the time, but it's been bugging me. Anyone have a link to that or a take on it?

A "million ideas", how refreshing! Bush Sr. lacked "the vision thing". S...forbrains lacks any original ideas! I have reservations about Hillary (corporate ties and hawkishness, mainly), but as a retired research scientist, her promises about supporting and depoliticizing science are very good to hear.
I would like to believe the second model applies, but I don't. Evangelicals are first and foremost authoritarians. They got their faith not by love or reason but by fear and believing what they wanted to believe. And sadly they vote the same way, e.g., for a phoney, vain lifelong loser who portrays himself as being a strong leader with Jesus in his heart and tells them it's a black and white, good or evil world.

I sure hope Obama goes way beyond new helicopters in cutting the DoD budget.

Good combo, wrong order.

Yes, but she sure isn't my first (or second, or third) choice

OK, but why the hell did Reid have to bring this to the floor for a vote? He had to have known many spineless Dems would vote to condemn.
