I cannot believe people are still defending John Edwards! The guy was always a liar. He stands only for himself and has no convictions...HE is a used car salesman.. say anything do anything to get what he wants.

Its been fun watching him flame out. Too bad his wife has to resort to using all this to peddle her latest book. She doesn't know if he is the father of this kid but still lives with him and is married to him? What kind of a freaking relationship is that??

Seriously, I can't stand these guys and getting rid of them is the best thing that has happened. Thankfully the guy is buried and is now a punchline to a joke.

Oh and lets not forget he is under investigation for using campaign funds to pay off his woman on the side. Any way you slice its clear she had no experience doing what she was paid to do so she was being paid to do something else..

I mean really WTF did Podesta's team do in vetting people? It had to be Geithner?? A primary architect of the ridiculous Bush bailout and tax cheat? And you appoint a Republican who then dumps you on national TV over your signature policy success??

Very dissapointing beginning to this administration.

And dont give me "Polls show Obama is popular" as some sort of justification. Of course people are giving the guy a break but its very dissapointing to me.

Well two quick points:

I don't think we are in a full fledged depression but I think the remedies to get out of a really bad recession and a depression are largely the same: GOVERNMENT has to spend a whole hell of a lot and if possible provide direct employment. This is the time to undertake massive infrastructure improvements etc and hire loads of people. At least thats the way I see it.

If people who made 35000$ or less cant pay their taxes maybe they should get some tax relief but I'm sorry people who made big incomes will have to pay or owe....presumably people had most of their taxes deducted anyways (not self employed people I understand).. I don't care to give tax relief to people who made a lot of money and got plenty of tax relief under Bush. Hopefully they saved some money for the taxes they knew they would have to pay.

No, if it was me tax relief would be a very very minor component of the program because I don't see it helping to kickstart the economy in the same way giving someone a job can...

Worthless polls. Yes they like Obama but they are buying into the Republican frame about spending being the problem...

Obama has not done a good job of framing this issue at all...People consider that govt spending got us into this mess and that more govt spending will make it worse but this is untrue! Look at the last country to go through a "depression": Argentina. The government run out of money and could not spend more.. the result was a catastrophe.

Howard Dean is the only option.
