NC Rev. Wright Anti-Obama Ads Could Be A Good Thing

At first I was outraged by the anti-Obama Ads featuring the usual snippets of Rev. Wright's rantings. As an Obama supporter I have been horrified of how the "guilt by association" meme has played out.

But, as has been pointed out by Sen. Clinton, these are issues which will be used against Obama in the GE.

If the cretins who run the NC Repugs continue to broadcast this trashy Ad, and Sen. Obama keeps his lead in the state, that will be a good indication that he will withstand similar attacks in September and August. If on the other hand Hilary wins or comes close in NC, that is a factor we must seriously take notice of.

So, I say, "bring it on NC Repug vermin!" Lets see how this plays itself out.

As an aside, I am amazed that no one has played the "guilt by association" game involving Willian Ayers back at Hannity and Company. Why is no one calling Sen. McCain a racist because of his occaisional associaton with the likes of the late Sen. Strom Thurmond, an avowed segregationist.

Of course the response to this might be "well, Thurmond moderated his views on race. He stopped his segregationist rhethoric almost 40 years ago." To which one might respond "as did Ayers end his terrorist activities."

JUST A THOUGHT.....

First of all, this is a Very Small Ad buy.

Secondly, since majority of the dem voters are black, this ad will NOT hit its intended target in the primary.

Its not even comparable.

Third, there is No Need to Test this Wright/Obama ad. No need at all. This swiftboat 527 GOP ads will work like Magic in the Fall. Anyone without any blinders knows this will be a very potent ad.

Wait until the Fall.

When Wright/Obama ads start hitting the airwaives across the South, Midwest, Southwest & Northeast courtesy of GOP 527's swiftboats around October- then you will see how Jeremiah will bury Barack's campaign.

There is ONLY one group of voters who REFUSE to accept the REALITY of Obama's problem- that's Liberal White Democrats. PERIOD.

Even many blacks know how Wright can detroy Obama in the fall. Certainly millions of Clinton supporters understand this well. Millions of Democrats living in Red, Purple & even blue states like PA & NJ understand how this will destroy his campaign.

Forget it

As reprehensible as Thurmond was, he's dead now and with the notable exception of Trent Lott, no one's suffered much by association with Thurmond over the years. He was pretty much portrayed as the kindly old guy, not the former arch segregationist. Besides, that will just bring up Robert Byrd attacks on us.

BTW, see how McCain very cleverly stays out of the dirty politics fray.

This magnificent behavior will continue in November. McCain is doing exactly what Bush did to Kerry in 2004.

McCain is PRETENDING that he is trying to discourage, even stop the Swift boat ads. Just like Bush did in '04.

But McCain is pleading the , " What can I do, I do not control these people. All I can do is ask them to stop." Exactly how Rove & Bush handled the swiftboating in '04.

But once the Ads start hitting the Airwaves, the damage is already done. No counter Ad can rebutt 20 years of Love between Wright/Obama.

We are talking about $75-$100 Million dollars of these ads across the country. Forget about it.

GOP operatives have said several times. They have DOUBLE the 527's funds in 2008 that they had for Kerry in '04.

As many here have said, this is an Electorl landslide waiting to happen.

Suprisingly, Chris Matthews is starting to accept the seriousness of this issue which will NOT go away in November.

if Obama and his supporters takes it seriously, seriously enough to start right now developing effective counters to this.
