I wish some of the Obamans on this thread would make an effort reconcile the 2005 Obama soft-pedaling on Roberts and Alito with the Super-progressive Obama of today. I thought his judgment was supposed to be far above that of us mere mortals.
I have been skipping out on DKos for quite a while. At first I thought Obama would be just fine and I was excited abpout all the Dem candidates. But Dkos when four-star batshit crazy, that was it.
Of course, doncha know just when I popped back over to say hi to some folks, I got TU status back! Arrrggghhhh! That's hard to walk away from. TR'ing purity mysoginistic assholes is a noble and gratifying pursuit.
But then recently I saw a post by kos bragging (with a link to Sitemeter) about how the hits at DK had been going up since Obama started the race-baiting crap. Enuff! Haven't been back TU or not!
"Obama was ranked the most liberal Senator by the National Journal."
FYI--Media Matters called out the National Journal for the decidedly odd definition of a liberal and the weird methodology they used to come up with that ranking. It's not a reliable source for this kind of conversation.
No one is saying that this pastor shouldn't be allowed to be a racist pig. I think the point is that if Hillary's pastor said any such thing, she would be tarred and feathered by the MSM (especially MSNBC).
I am livid that those around Obama get to broadcast their racially explosive views (JJJr.'s "She didn't cry for Katrina" bullsh*t, anyone?) with hardly a peep from the media.
What's worse is that women, who are about 50% of the human race and have been treated as non-people for far longer than AAs, are criticized for crying victim if they point out this.
The "audacity of hope"? Nah, the "audacity of hypocrisy" is more like it.
I read the story at the paper's website. The comments following it are an embarassment to anyone supporting either candidate. Almost all of them are from Americans with yet another spitting cat fight passing for argument.
I do not agree with you. I think if Obama hadn't been winning the caucuses you would be the one complaining.
I attended a caucus in my state in which both Clinton and Obama supporters were turned away for being a few minutes late (our party website went crazy and people were misdirected).
Seriously, I have wondered what black people think when they see "blackness" being bandied about in this way. Early in the campaign there were questions about Obama being "black enough" and now this??
Likewise, I wonder how Muslims feel about their religion and culture being characterized as a "smear"?
I was involved in a "discussion" with a DKfanatic who compared Clinton to George Wallace. Considering when and where I grew up, that kind of language is fighting words. That comparison suggests that Clinton is stupid white trash.
I was ready to ditch DK altogether just when I was returned to TU status. Now I have donuts to hurl, so I go ever there and toss some around.

Whoa there, try some de-caff.
There is a massive difference between an online poll and actual voting.
Even with actual voting there's a huge difference between 1% of voting population deciding delegates as opposed to millions of voters deciding.
My only point was that DKos polls (and other online polls) are meaningless and eminently freepable.

After all the polls over there, I realized that the DKos population is representative of...absolutely nothing.
Once again, you make a mockery of your sig line.
She's too busy running for president.
Well, it worked for Obama...

Maybe Brian Ross will take an interest in Mrs. Obama's extraordinarily generous employer and the remarkably beneficial timing of her massive raise!

Before you jump on the bandwagon about the 60 Minutes comment, try reading this:

As far as I can tell Media Matters isn't in the tank for anyone. They called BS on the 60 Minutes thing.
I can respect that people interpret things differently, but I can't respect reactionary nonsense.
Mojo to you for principle! :)

The prevalence of libertarian talking points to support a "liberal" candidate is amazing.

Caucuses are a terrible way to select anything.
Too busy running for president...
I love that phrase!
