Al Gore is the most 'electable' at 98%, say the online odds markets

I don't like to bet (esp. with money), except for a rare lottery ticket or two and a rarer slot machine playing for fun.

But, I happened to check the online betting site Intrade for the 2008 election and found something very interesting. Link (click the "2008 US Election" link to the left).

My Fair Democrats, Time to wake up and lead on Iran

To the powers that be of the Democratic Party:

The Bush/Cheney "administration" has begun an intense drum beat in an attempt to line up public support for an attack.

Their game plan appears to be quite simple: make unratified and false claims and spread speculation about Iran's proximity to having a nuclear bomb, inject rumors that we may strike with nuclear weapons, and thus make a conventional campaign against Iran appear to be a reasonable course of action.

Déjà Vu? Ground hog day?

Why not let someone like him get to the bottom of the NSA wiretapping controversy?

Patriot Act, FISA, George Will, and tying things together

In his opinion piece from today, George Will says this:
George Will: The administration's argument about the legality of the NSA program also has been discordant with the administration's argument about the urgency of extending the Patriot Act. Many provisions of that act are superfluous if a president's wartime powers are as sweeping as today's president says they are.
