I'm really glad you guys are keeping on top of this issue. I've been trying to keep up but just haven't had the time to do a full analysis.
I agree that this action by the White House is completely reactionary. I think it really relates to something like the Draft Sestak Movement which saw how the Progressive Community can make a difference (even if we aren't elected officials) and get positive responses from elected officials.
It's disappointing that Deeds is backwards on so many issues. Yet, I doubt issues like same-sex marriage will come up in Virginia in the next couple years. It'll probably wait until at least 2012.
This was interesting but with the GOP "civil war" taking place right now I'm not surprised that a unified Democratic Party has an advantage over the Republicans.
The Race for Governor is really getting tight in the end. I've written some about it but I think it'll all come down to who can turn out an extra dozen supporters or so.
So, the Florida Senate Race will certainly be one for the future of the party. If only the battle continues until 2012, the Democrats would be assured a victory.
I think it'll be possible for Democrats to pick up some typically Republican seats if we just change the way we say things a little. I've jotted some thoughts about this down but this would be aimed more towards the local and state level than nationally.
I've written a short list as well. but I'm still working over the names. I'm thinking Patrick is a no go (he seems to be dead, politically, in MA) and I'm still considering if Politico is right on Sotomayor being the favorite.

Totally forgot about this race. Glad someone's been keeping up (and keeping tabs on the creeps at NOM).

I've written some on the VA Gov. Race here

I agree and I've written as much.

More of my thoughts on this here
It certainly looks like Barbour will be a contender for the Republican nomination. At least he'll only really have regional appeal, but maybe enough to get the nomination.

Nice to see we'll be having a good candidate for Governor.

I'm thinking that this will probably negatively impact the Democratic race but I guess we'll have to see what happens.

I've finished my evaluations for potential Supreme Court nominees but I'm interested in hearing what others think.

I've just posted a (partial?) shortlist for Obama
