What I Wish Obama Would say

Here's what I'd like to hear Obama say about McCains 'Johny come lately' committment to 'change.'

Where's the outrage?

The single most significant example of sexism in the primary campaign was the John Edwards haircut story.

I say it was sexist because a woman getting a $400 haircut wouldn't even have been a blip on the radar--it was only because he was a man that it was such a big story. He was called things like "prettyboy" because of that story.

I say it was the most significant example of sexism because I guarantee you that story got more minutes of media play than all the examples in the NOW list combined. And I guarantee you it had a more negative impact on Edwards campaign than all the examples on the NOW list combined had on Clinton's campaign.

So where's the outrage? Why did NOW fail to even mention THAT story?

Obama Flip-Flops on Cannibalism!

In a stunning reversal from his previous silence on the issue, Barack Obama today came out strongly against cannibalism, telling an Associated Press reporter--

I don't support cannibalism.

The Conversation (with poll!)

A Real Democrat is sitting in a cafe drinking a mocha latte and reading The Nation when a Concern Troll walks in. The Concern Troll is busily wringing his hands while his eyes furtively glance about--he has a very worried look on his face. He approaches the Real Democrat and The Conversation begins below the fold.

Not a diary.

Just pointing out that currently among 5 diary's on the Rec list we have 3 Obama hit pieces and 2 pro-Hillary pieces.

Now I don't want to hear any ever complaining again about how Kos is so unfair and unbalanced.

Kos is the very model of fair and balanced by comparison.

How Bush got elected.

At the recent Miss Teen USA pagent Miss South Carolina was asked the question, "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"

Her answer: "I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the US should help the US, uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us."

I couldn't believe that answer when I heard it... until I remembered that S.C. is a red state.

This explains everything.

Is there something wrong with the site?

My password wouldn't work this morning, but I was able to change it and get back in. But now it keeps popping me out and I have to change the password again to get back in. When I do log in it only lasts a few minutes. I know they can't be banning Obama supporters just for being Obama supporters--after all I've only ever had one comment troll rated and even that one wasn't justified.

What Is Discrimination?

In yesterdays diary post `Covert Racism' a discussion developed regarding the question of whether someone who believes Barack Obama is the strongest candidate, yet doesn't believe he can win a general election due to his race and so doesn't vote for him in the primary, is guilty of racial discrimination. This question also applies to someone who doesn't vote for Hillary Clinton under a similar scenario, but because she's a woman. I thought this topic well deserves further exploration.

Just a note--

I temporarily deleted my 'What is Discrimination' entry because the comments got off to a bad start and I have to leave like an hour ago.

Some people felt it was calling them all racists and saying anyone who doesn't support Obama is a racist... etc. Unfortunately par for the course. I'll repost it again tomorrow when I have more time to deal with it.
