...it works the same way for a really busy Obama voter, and for the same reason. Or let's say you're a Nader supporter. You might be more likey to vote foer him if you think Obama's got it sewn up.

It's the enthusiasm gap where I think we'll win it. Obama voters are just much more enthusiastic. We're more likely to vote simply because we feel good about our candidate.

Black alien angels? On spaceships? Supporting Obama? McCain is going to have a heyday with this. I can just hear Palin now--"Obama doesn't see angels the same way you and I do. And he doesn't see aliens the same way we do either. Vote for McCain/Palin and keep angels and aliens white, just like the bible says."

You are endowing him with greater powers than he has. "Periodically" meant "from time to time." It's a very common word.

And BTW, if he uses the word "hysterical" it really truly has nothing to do with a womans womb. Truly.

He could have said she "whipped me", and Jerome would have pictured her in thigh high boots with a cat-o-nine tails. He could have said she "beat me" and Jerome would have seen it as a masturbation metaphor. In this case the sexism is in the eye of the beholder. It's easy to find hidden meanings when you are desperate to do so.

I don't even know why I got banned from rating/rec'ing. I did use the word "pathetic" to describe Jerome's suggestion that Obama's use of the word "spanked" was sexist. But I haven't hiderated any comments for a good while and I don't see what that one comment has to do with rating/rec'ing... except that it IS his blog...

Seems to me that if it was that offensive the comment should have been hidden. The only other thing I can think is I have a bad habit of playing with the mouse wheel. Maybe I accidently hiderated something without noticing. Oh well.

Yes. And 'mainstream thought' is always correct.

Fact: Obama has been winning for virtually the entire race, since well before the financial crisis.

Fact: Obama retook the lead from McCain (after McCains convention/Palin bump) before the financial crisis really hit.

Fact: Obama has gone 3 for 3 in the debates.

There are lots of reasons why Obama is in the lead--the economy is one of them, but only one of them. He would be winning either way.

Obama has been leading most of the race and retook the lead from McCain before this whole financial crisis really hit the fan. I'm truly tired of people trying to write off his lead as being all about the economic crisis.
