Kissing the Jewish Vote Goodbye

John McCain, by choosing Sarah Palin, has effectively "kissed the Jewish vote goodbye." Sarah Palin belongs to a far right wing, anti-Semitic church and NOTHING can gloss that over. This is the latest in a long line of anti-Jewish stands taken by the Republican Party. Let's not forget that even in 2004, according to every single Israeli citizen I have talked to, even Prime Minister Ariel Sharon opposed George Bush and supported John Kerry.

Sarah Palin is another right wing, anti-Semitic fanatic and the Jewish voters will NOT be fooled. This is yet ANOTHER fool who thinks all Jews should all move to Israel so the second coming can happen. Apocalyptic fanatics are NOT the friends of either Israel or Jews.

This comes from the National Jewish Democratic Council:

"Kissing the Jewish vote goodbye," that was the headline in The Guardian this week about the McCain campaign that noted, "candidates like Palin are the Jews' worst nightmare."

The Politico noted in an article entitled, "Jewish voters may be wary of Palin," that, "John McCain may have helped Obama with his Jewish problem by choosing Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate."

In McCain's first critical presidential decision, his judgment appears to be lacking with the selection of his Vice Presidential running mate. In Governor Sarah Palin, McCain selected a running mate with zero foreign policy experience and a brewing scandal which is being investigated by the Alaska state legislature.

The Palin selection seems bizarre, as the McCain campaign has spent the better part of the past year loudly exclaiming that it was reaching out to Jewish voters and made much to do about considering two Jewish legislators - Senator Joe Lieberman and Representative Eric Cantor - as vice presidential possibilities.

When asked what qualification he was looking for in selecting a Vice President, McCain, who turned 72 last week, has said , "The fundamental principle behind any selection of a running mate would be whether that person is fully prepared to take over." So why select Palin?

On domestic issues, Palin is totally out of step with public opinion in the Jewish community. Palin is against reproductive freedom - even in the cases of rape and incest; one of the first organizations to support her nomination was the Christian Coalition.

I hope all Jews by now realize the danger the right wing extremist Christians like Palin represent. From McCain's calling the anti-Semite Hagee his "spiritual guide" to the selection of the extremist Palin, McCain is telling Jewish voters what he really thinks of them.

Re: Kissing the Jewish Vote Goodbye

Did anyone else note Palin explicitly endorsing a "two-state solution" to Israel-Palestine? That just guaranteed Florida for Obama.

Well to be fair,

They both endorsed a two state solution.  The only difference is that Biden knows what that is, and Palin just memorized that talking point yesterday.

Re: Well to be fair,

Palin thinks it's kind of like North and South Dakota, ya know.  She is even working on State Capitals in her spare time....

Re: Kissing the Jewish Vote Goodbye

Lieberman has been her Emperor Palpatine to her Vader. But thankfully, Lieberman controls only the older Jewish vote prone to AIPAC like idiocy.

Despite Lieberman's best efforts, I think the majority of the Jewish populace is still strongly in favor of obama/biden.

When I first saw Palin I thought...

Ok she MAY play well with some of the Midwest Minivan Hillary supporters..

She is going to be anathema to the over 50 Jewish women Hillary supporters in Florida in Florida.

Palin is no mensch.
