I'm surprised you haven't heard him saying this during the campaign. It was one of his big pushes for change. He sometimes said lobbyists "will not work in my white house." or a slight variation with "will not find a job in my white house." Especially after he broke his pledge on public campaign financing, the campaign said not to worry because he wouldn't have lobbyists in his administration. Anyway, there's a clip of him saying it in this CNN report from last night:

That was the theme of Michelle Obama's speech at the convention.
Before his being elected, Barack Obama emphatically declared he would hire no lobbyists in his administration. Tom Daschle is a lobbyist. Daschle started his job at Alston & Bird in 2005 (recruited by Bob Dole, who also works at the firm) as a special adviser in the law firm's legislative and public policy group.
from Washinton Post report (2005) of Daschle's new lobbying position:
Daschle is merely the latest high-profile former lawmaker to jump to the lucrative world of lobbying and law firm work in what has become an increasing trend.
quarantee that everybody have affordable health care? give me a break. that is so subjective it's ridiculous: health care is in the eye of the beholder.
the only way to guarantee everybody have health care is to mandate it. as EE said "A health care plan without a mandate is only half a plan."
Obama's plans are zip; the least progressive and skimpy plans ever put forward by a Democrat.
I was going to post a comment similar to yours. Rhodes sounded more like Rush Limbaugh when she called HRC a whore. Some progressive. Maybe Rush will hire her to do his show with him.
You are so exactly right on. When the pro-gun people (and the media does this too) refer to the second amendment, they always just say it's "the right to bear arms." They always leave out the critical clause of the amendment, upon which the "right to bear arms" depends: "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state. .."
Also note: the word "well-regulated" is there. They always just conveniently leave that out too. The second amendment is talking about a collective need for the state/nation to defend itself from enemies. It is decidedly NOT speaking about a right to carry guns, hidden or otherwise, in our public streets, in our supermarkets or into our classrooms.
Throughout the Primary season, polls showed HRC trouncing McCain in GE, and Obama/McCain in a sqeaker. I quess not much has changed since making Sen. Obama the presumptive nominee.
Didn't Donna Brazile once say if the SDs chose the nominee, then she would resign from the DNC? (Maybe she meant ONLY if the SDs chose Clinton, she'd resign?)

see below for response: "no lobbyists in my white house"; (I meant to reply to your comment.)

Looks more like Barack Obama's resume, actually.
correction:
replace the word skimpy with skimpiest
talk about watered down to zip.

He'd be foolish not to choose a woman, either Chistine Todd Whitman or Kay Baily Hutchinson
and maybe GWB can join you. Wouldn't you love to have a bber with this guy? and that's how the media got him elected.
right on!
The Rush and Randi Show (a little more catchy than Limbaugh and Rhodes)
me too.

And didn't he make a point of remarking on John Lewis's absence at a recent fundraiser? What was the point of that?
