At the beginning when it seems like he had done it because he just fell in love with someone else, there was a little sympathy. But of course, he tried to save his life he already had. If he had resigned the governorship and left to be with the other woman I would have respected him.
That last one's easy. Bowing to taxcuts to try and get republican support for the bill. I'm not saying some tax cuts wouldn't have been enough for the traitorous scum that are the blue dog types, but he put in a lot more than he needed to. Better to spend that money elsewhere even direct aid to states to produce more economic growth.
It you can cut out the sports cliches for a second?
Every single shred of evidence we have is that the bill will make things worse. Obama doesn't even pretend to stand up for anything. The only thing we can do is 1) make sure the bill doesn't pass, and 2) destroy the democrats who pushed capitulation and defend those pushed a public option.
The fundraising to help those who support a public option is a good start.
Until there is a bill it's pointless. Max Baucus is openly lying to his constituents about public options for God's sake!
Frankly I think he should be realistic. He was never going to get re-elected. It's like Lampson down in DeLay's seat, he lost the special election but won the general so he held it by trickery and got beaten by 7 points in 2008.
Minnick should just accept that he's going to be booted out of office (or I guess he could switch but caucus and vote with Dems, heh) and just go loud and proud for the 2 years he's got.
Ah, Nate did the math after assuming cloture and is not quite sure such a bill can get to 50. His count was some 48-49.
But look, I am okay with leaving private insurance alone in exchange for a super-hard-core public option (and maybe subsidies for those who HAVE no insurance to buy in to it, giving it a critical mass).
Besides, US military people have a tremendously hard time focusing on strategy. We have seen that again and again these past 10 years. When it comes to that field you have got to go with the political leadership.
They have though. It's a huge change. It's really brought home during Constitutional Law course in the US. Criminal Procedure too, as you see Police allowed to become the facist mini-tyrants they are today and citizens can get arrested for not looking at police (so suspicious!) or looking at police (looking is suspicious!) in otherwise identicle circumstances.

It's interesting.

I always wished we could have just annex Okinowa.
Sigh. We'll have to give it back someday.
The only reason we shared broad based prosperity was BECAUSE it wasn't inclusive.
MSNBC had to uncall Bloomberg/Thompson
An excellent reason for lefties to be armed, self-defense.
And remember! Republicans select their charimen, democrats run on seniority.
Once again, they do it better on the other side.

That's too bad because the DFH's have been right over and over again since 2001.
If things go right I'm going to be an attorney, I hope I can still get on the public plan.
That you are praising him for voting for House Leadership says a ton about how "progressive" ID-01 actually is.
I understand, I live in a R+ district but not one that is verging on 20 points of crazy.
