So says this tidbit I ran across on the celeb gossip site perezhilton.com. Yes, I know the source is totally bogus, but if true I find this to be a strange choice for Mr. Edwards, who I think highly of.

Wannabe U.S. President John Edwards has a new friend. The politician, vying for the Democratic party's nomination, struck up a conversation with musician John Mayer at last week's Time 100 party and the two really hit it off.
Edwards has scheduled a meeting with Mayer, who offered to help him "connect" to the youth market.
"He was talking about the language of young people, his generation," Edwards said. "He basically said, 'You've got to get me in the first twenty seconds. I watch movies on YouTube, and if they're 25 seconds long, they're five seconds too long."
John Mayer appeals to people under 30?

I caught this article in Ben Smith's blog on Politico and figured I would share it, and let people draw their own conclusions. Obviously I don't think it hurts a candidate to have an older fanbase, as these are the people who traditionally turn out to vote in greater percentages.

I'll take some bits and pieces from the article out of context, include the full article from the UNLV student newspaper, 'The Rebel Yell', and maybe I'll wind up on top of the rec list. Apparently it doesn't take much these days.
p.s. I'm doing this on purpose, so lighten up. I like Edwards. The hero worship of some people around here scares me a bit though.

In a sign of things to come, Barack Obama is in the beginnings of his policy rollout. This article from the AP previews a plan Obama plans to unveil in Durham, NH today.

Barack Obama held a somewhat unique if a bit abbreviated fundraising event in Milwaukee, and I for once can say that I got to attend. The asking price was $25 per ticket for entry into the historic Milwaukee Theater, capacity 4100, and the event easily sold out.

Here is a link to an article about the event, and I'll post more thoughts and a flickr link to some pics below.

Some photos of the event. Conditions on the inside weren't really great for getting good photos, but there are some outdoor pics of one of the lines to get into the theater.

I gave my opinion on this WONDERFUL YouTube video I came across, and apparently the poor individual who created the video didn't appreciate it much. Awww. And then, instead of posting my artfully colored reply, he chose not to post that and to distort it. Well, I guess he showed me.

This isn't a new topic, but I haven't weighed in on it yet and I'd like to explore it below.

An article from Novosti, the Russian News and Information Agency details information from Russian Intelligence warns of American military buildup in preparation for a conflict with Iran.
The capture of British military personnel, supposedly from Iraqi waters, is bound to set off a massive crisis in the region beyond what we are seeing with the insurgency in Iraq.
The full article is below the fold.(I don't know if its okay to post it or not, but its Russian so I figure its good to go).

This is not unknown to a lot of us but I just wanted to put this out there and share some thoughts on Obama holding a health-care forum after the recent SEIU, well, debacle is the best way I could put it.
