it just reminds me that no election has really gone quite as expected since Reagan-Mondale 1984. With expectations this high, one Iowa loss and Hillary suffers an awful weeklong news cycle that can seriously put a dent in her already paper-thin armor.
Ironic that you point to a National Review article, then start talking like you're some time of liberal purist about DINOs and the DLC. Seriously, if you think Obama is in bed with that crowd, I feel sorry for you.
You COULD have pointed out that Obama has never said any such thing, and clearly has a different style, approach, and set of values than does the person who originally uttered those words, but that would do great harm to the 'point' you tried to make, wouldn't it?
Hard to know how long it takes that many troops to leave a country unless you've personally done it before. We don't have the ability to pull out overnight even if we wanted to. Once again, Obama tells the truth, and someone distorts it for political gain.
Obama didn't have any problem stepping up in 2004 and 2006, and it seems like a little bit of cash now might help out in congressional primaries, or even to get a headstart on the general election.
If this is the level that this debate is coming down to, its really kinda sad. Its like, so freaking what?
And no doubt about it, if Obama were NOT giving money to candidates around the country, there would be plenty of hit pieces just like this one, only accusing him of not stepping up to help Democrats get elected.
You could also interpret this as doing his part to help Democrats get elected, by stepping up and making use of his fundraising appeal as he did in the 2004 and 2006 elections.
I have no doubt that any number of potential members of Congress would love to have him step up and help financially.
If I were a candidate in a swing district, I'd be more than a little concerned about taking money from the current 'frontrunner'.
If you don't actually pay attention to what Obama is saying, and are only capable of seeing things in the most dumbed-down form(the way many Republicans do), then I suppose it is possible to draw the conclusion that you have.

just read this blog entry by Jerome. I'd swear the guy has just flat out lost his mind since Mark Warner announced he wasn't running.
I think its time for all the reasonable people, including Obama, Richardson, and Edwards supporters to move on. This site offically sucks ass.

We'll just have to wait and see.

the rest of us should just pack it in and go home.

The day Edwards feels my pain is the day I become a rich trial lawyer. I love what he does, but he doesn't feel anyone's pain.
He understands it, and has lived it long ago, but he doesn't feel it.
Just my $.02.
and maybe my dog gets diarrhea from eating apples in the backyard. Who cares?
Seriously, do you really think you're going to get any traction on this issue?
if you dealt purely in facts, there wouldn't be any problems. Its reality that you have a problem with.
No laws were broken.
Everyone does it, if they can afford to.
Nobody cares.
Those are facts.

Maybe he's just being Obama, and you're the one trying to fit him into a particular category.
