He could not help Kerry to get up a few points in his backyard NC, how can you expect him to do better?
In all sorts of surveys in swing states of OH, FL etc, Clinton is either doing better or even with Edwards.
To have a Southern accent won't win him Southerners. Expensive haircuts, big mansions and hedgefunds involvement are certainly not the life style Southerners appreciate.

They gave up on it. Kerry kept Edwards out of the limelight in case he needed to run again.
Remember the story about Kerry asking Edwards not to run in 08' if they lost?
