Maybe it's just my memory failing me, but I don't seem to recall this degree of fuss being made out here on the frontpage over the numerous times when progressive leaders have spoken out in praise of Edwards (Krugman being my favorite example of such). Kinda makes me wonder what makes this (to the best of my knowledge) highly atypical example of a progressive leader offering criticism so much more noteworthy.
That's one word for it, certainly. Others might be "disgusting", "anti-democratic", and "un-American". And unfortunately, this is seemingly just par for the course for the Hillary campaign.
Well, I'm certainly not disputing peoples' right to pick a candidate. I'm just saying that it seems like if you do, it imposes something of an obligation on you to communicate that fact to people when you're speaking on related topics. You shouldn't have to go on some major archive trawl to figure out if a poster is an avowed supporter of a particular candidate - and certainly not if they're in the habit of writing about and evaluating that particular candidate.
Aren't you an avowed Obama backer, Todd? If so, seems like that might be something worth mentioning in a post that's basically your largely unsupported opinion that Obama rocked. Y'know, full disclosure and all that. I mean, when I write a pro-Edwards diary I generally try to make a point of noting that I'm already an Edwards backer. Seems like it might behoove you to do something similar (assuming I'm remembering correctly about you being an Obama backer, of course).
You misunderstand the poll. It doesn't say that 31% haven't heard of him, it says that only 31% have heard of him. Big difference, there. And as for "conspiracy theory", members of the media have publicly admitted that they intend to "bury" John Edwards.
Wow. It really seems more and more clear that if Hillary gets the nod, we can look for the "culture of corruption" to stop being just a Republican problem.
You crack me up, George. Do you get paid for this comedy routine, or do you just provide it pro bono?
Oh, and as for how anyone can support posters who write bitter, false diatribes - I honestly don't know, George. Why don't you tell me - why do you continue to support areyouready, hwc, and their ilk?
Crap like this just reinforces Hillary's status as yet another corporatist warmongering LieberDem. Is it really too much to ask that we have a nominee who doesn't represent the Republican wing of the Democratic party?
Oh, good Lord. Look, if you honestly can't grasp the difference between having 160,000 troops patrolling the streets and conducting combat missions and having maybe 3,000 (and IIRC that's a high-end estimate) remaining stationary in a highly-fortified location, I have only one request for you: please don't have kids. Ever. Thanks.

Sent him some money, and I'm planning to make at least a few phone calls too. The dream lives on!

This is hilarious. So much for that so-convenient bubble of "inevitability", eh?

Happily recced. Also, in case anyone's interested, I put up a take on this myself on DKos. Feel free to check it out. :-)
an honest interviewer. You don't really seem to get that much in the media these days - especially if you're a real populist, like JRE.

...and JRE. It's not that often you get a candidate who really has the potential to turn things upside down. Let's not squander the chance.
Bit of a tangent, but I just have to say - your sig is absolutely awesome, IMO.
