to all this was to reject Brown -- in the sense that I wouldn't contribute anything to his campaign -- but I now realize that's stupid. Brown isn't the one who's at fault here. The one I want to "punish" -- and not for the first time in recent memory -- is my own senior senator, Chuckles Schumer. There's got to be a way to at least sideline old-style Dems like him.

It IS a Republican scandal. As was the Cunningham scandal. And the DeLay scandal. And the Frist one. And G-D knows how many others still coming to light. The day the Right admits that this degree of corruption in a political party -- and one powerful enough to block most investigations, it's worth adding -- is absolutely unprecedented in modern times is the day we'll stop shouting!

The best way to express our anger at his butt-kissing is to just stand back and let Ciro kick his butt all the way to Crawford.

I can imagine a time when a third-party protest vote might be an effective strategy, but such a time will come only when Republicans are solidly and safely in the minority.
