Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

Madison, Wisconsin - No votes have been counted in Wisconsin. But the race is over.

This was demonstrated most poignantly in Eau Claire, WI, where overflow audiences heard Obama address 1,000s Saturday, and where Hillary cancelled her appearance.

I believe in MyDD, but not Hillary.

A mother who lost her son serving in Iraq gave a bracelet to Obama at the Eau Claire event to remind him of the reality of voting for war, and he still wears it.

Madison and Milwaukee, and southeastern Wisconsin will vote for Obama, but Eau Claire and northern Wisconsin will send him to Ohio and Texas to lift him, and us, to victory.

Latest out of Obama's three offices in Madison is that 100s of field volunteers hit the entire City of Madison (and surrounding areas) Saturday in anticipation of a winter storm today dumping snow/sleet/freezing rain in most of Wisconsin.

I know the policy differences between the two are slight, but it does matter if you believe in a candidate.

I just don't believe in Hillary; I do believe in Obama.

No, it's not.

And I would encourage both candidates' supporters to get out there, and help.

Re: Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

I'm hoping Obama is able to keep both Wisconsin and Hawaii close enough to take a win in both states.

It will not be a rout, though.

Sure, everyone should get out (safely 'cause of the weather) and help.

But Hillary is pulling out, it's not a secret.

offers a decent analysis.

Re: Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

You're right. But Clinton is trying to avoid a rout.

But if you know Wisconsin, when is the last time Oshkosh, Eau Claire, et al packed 1,000s to see a candidate in a pres. primary?

Obama is blowing away Hillary in the air wars, the field wars, and offering negative TV ads, ads blasted by Gov. Doyle and the mayors of Wisconsin's two largest cities.

One commentator said to get out and work; he/she is right. And the people will; but it's over, man.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin had the potential to lift up the campaign. It would have changed the media narative. Hillary should have competed hard in the state. It could have been enough to give her the momentum she may need going into March 4th. It seems unwise to stay out of this race

Re: Wisconsin

According to Huffpost Hillary has changed her mind and staying in WI till Tuesday?

Hillary Rodham Clinton's latest Wisconsin campaign schedule doesn't sound like the battle plan of a candidate who is conceding the state, as some have suggested.

Unofficially, her schedule after Saturday's party dinner (mostly town hall-style events, we're told) looks like this, according to one source:

Sunday: Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison.

Monday: Eau Claire, Wausau, Oshkosh, Milwaukee.

Tuesday morning: Racine.

Re: Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

Accomplishes truth, Reporting fact, an underappreaciated aspect of campaigns.

Obama supporters will not back off.

Does not hurt to tell the truth that Obama has bested Hillary because his is a more compelling vision for the future.

Care to argue that?

Hillary is leaving the state early

Absolute dumbness.  Brilliant Mark Penn advice. (My advice would have been to plant her ass in Wisconsin Wednesday and stay there til Tuesday night and then go to Texas and Ohio.)

Why is she leaving the state early? Because she's going to lose.  (Obama voters, run up the score, take no vote for granted.)

And what message does this tell voters?  Not a good one.

But I'm sure it doesn't matter to Mark Penn.  This isn't CA., NY, NJ, Fla, Oh. or Texas so the people in Wisconsin are insignificant.

Amateurs?

Mark Penn took a candidate who was up by 30 points 2 months before an election to one who is getting destroyed.

She's lost 8 states in a row after having lost the majority of states on Super Tuesday.

Obama will win Ohio

He'll get a Wisconsin bounce and with two full weeks, Obama can spend 7 days in Ohio, 7 in Texas, advertise across both states, give people a chance to see him up close, and win both states.

Re: Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

Obama is coming to Youngstown tomorrow.  How much do you want to bet that he draws more than 250?

I haven't been to Ohio in years, but a friend of mine in Granville says Obamania has caught on heavy in that area.

Re: Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

WRONG!!!!

Obama does NOT take WI in a rout.  This is going to be very close and we Obama supporters need to be working like we are underdogs!!!!

Re: Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

Sure, work like underdogs.

Then celebrate Tuesday, but I hate not speaking the truth in reporting reality; lies suck.

Re: Obama Takes Wisconsin in Rout

Some little part of me wants Obama to be the nominee, so these folks who see him as "untouchable" get a dose of reality.

That's the plan.

And it has been the plan for a long time.

Oooops...

This was supposed to be a reply to Nancy's comment above... sorry.

But I guess it kind of works here too.

Superdelegates

That is exactly what the Superdelegates are there for. To counterbalance such infiltrations. Let's pay attention to the number of crossover voters. It will be huge, I predict. Obama supporters will spin it as his appeal to moderates and say it will show he can win in the fall. The media will echo that. Anyone who says we are being gamed will be shouted down, but we are being gamed. It is going to be really nasty.

Republicans want Hillary as the nominee

all over RW talk radio, the callers were talking about switching to Democratic just to nominate Hillary because they know McCain beats Hillary but Obama destroys McCain.

you want to win?

People of all sexes (genders in the foolish formulation) ought to rule, with the leaders dutifully following (a classical liberal thang).
