Tradesports' latest for key races looks good for all but Ford. From summerlightning.com/blog
What are people betting on today?
Just for a minute, assume the election is going to be fair (which Summer Lightning says is not going to happen).
Tradesports, if you like that kind of thing (follow what people bet on, not what they say) is looking reasonable, except for Tennessee. For those unfamiliar, the "bid" number is roughly the percent win chance that the market is giving that proposition.
Does this mean I think the election will be stolen? ... It's hard to tell.
I agree with you. But it is getting easier to see that the conditions that would trigger a concerted effort to steal are all there. Because, even with late changes and the "72 hour plan", it still looks good for the Democrats.
So now, let's imagine I am a well-connected Republican operative, and the polls are all telling me I need to start running Plan B. Whassat?
Plan B is a deliberate strategy, developed over six years, practiced in 2002, used in anger in 2004 in a couple of places, and ready for wider deployment this year. It is what underpins the assertions that some are making, against the evidence, that the right wing retains all power.
(1) Create HAVA, enforce premature implementation of questionable technology, establish new voter reg and ID requirements, set up strange arrangements for provisional and absentee ballots, run phone bank wars, etc. All these are designed to give me the power to cause just enough confusion to throw just enough results into doubt for a lengthy period after election day.
(2) Build large post election legal teams prepared to drop in, where needed to challenge and set up to litigate...
(3) Set up several years of judicious judicial appointments up to and including the Supreme Court...
(4) Prepare to suppress protest - little things like, remove habeas corpus, build in country detention centers, federalize the National Guard, and authorize domestic surveillance (all have been achieved in the last couple of years)...
So now, all we need to do is prolong the confusion. If it looks like I am winning through litigation, great. (And remember, I don't need to win much to retain power).
But if even that is looking shaky, then we call a halt. We say, this great country cannot afford prolonged uncertainty at this crucial time in history, etc (essentially the reason that the 2000 count was stopped).
We declare, in the public interest, that the election is void, and we must retain the status quo Congress. We make some consoling noises about holding them again next year.
We're not too worried about protest - in general our opposition is too "gentlemanly" to fight for very long.
If anyone does complain, well, we just federalised the National Guard, and we ditched habeas corpus for non-citizens, so we can pretty much suppress who you like. What? You say you are a citizen? Prove it. Oh, that's right, you can't, because you can't talk to anyone on the outside.
This is pure tinhattery conspiracy theory. I am not a Republican operative, and no such operative with any such plan exists.

It couldn't happen here.
Just watch.
