Tim Russert Calls South Carolina-South Africa

From the Hotline:

Russert: "I think this is going to get very rough and tough now in South Carolina not only between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, but between Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. I think the Obama campaign is at a point where they have to now return fire in their minds. ... Bill Clinton's going to go door to door, church to church in South Africa. ... I'm sorry, South Carolina" -- NBC's Tim Russert (MSNBC).

Can you believe this crap? What does Tim Russert's "slip" of tongue reveal about how the media views the South Carolina Primary?

Re: Tim Russert Calls South Carolina-South Africa

Considering who we are talking about (Tim Russert), this is quite a slip of the tongue!

Re: Tim Russert Calls South Carolina-South Africa

If you saw MTP this morning -- actually, for the past year -- you wouldn't be surprised.  It's not a slip of the tongue.  They're going to turn this in a race war.

Get ready.

Agreed FilberSF. I saw MTP this morning and it was disgusting. Peggy Norman got on my last nerve. They want a race war. I think their goal is to destroy the DEM party in the process.

I saw Peggy Nooner

claiming that Hillary goes running to Bill to protect her.  It was so sickening, she was saying that Clinton can not run on her own merit and that Obama is really running against Bill Clinton.
I have heard other people say it is improper for him as an ex-president to defend his spouse so strongly.

The MSM is fucking insane and I think some of them are getting their talking points from the RNC and others are just idiotic lemmings.

Re: It's Peggy Noonan
After several years of being invisible, she's been resurrected  into the talk show debates.  She was on another last night and used the same "Hillary using Bill to fight for her" argument.
Always consider the source. - She's a Wall Street Journal staffer, and a former speech writer for Bush 41.  She coined several of his "famous" lines; e.g.: "points of light" and "read my lips, no new taxes".
Looks like we'll be seeing more of her as the election race progresses.  She'll make no attempt to be nonpartisan.  You can count on Noonan to be pro-Republican all the way.

Re: It's Peggy Noonan... I know

lol, I call her Peggy Nooner because it seemed like she always wanted to jump in the sake with the president she was always so sickeningly flowery when talking about her boss.

Re: Tim Russert Calls South Carolina-South Africa

The drive-by media/Georgetown social clubs are a bunch of old white males who are truly sexists, racists. They thrive on this sort of stuff. It is disgusting, but hardly unexpected.

Tim is such an ass.

I am so glad that he would be the one to make this kind of mistake.  He is such a POS.

Re: Tim Russert Calls South Carolina-South Africa

If someone from Hillary's campaign had said it, we would have 20 diaries already about the "new Southern strategy."

Since it wasn't any of Hillary's people it's obviously just a slip of the tongue.  That's how it works, right?
