Glad you did this diary....I saw the same segment and actually thought Clark (and the Obama campaign, I'm guessing) was brilliant. It's reminiscent of Rove's attack on Kerry's war hero status in 2004 and evokes all sorts of Overton Window strategies.
Most folks who've written of this have missed these points.
Everyone should get on board, but the amount of energy courting a holdout who possesses irrational beliefs might be better spent phone banking, registering voters, volunteering.
Of all the whiny, immature silliness. If Alegre thinks Obama is responsible for sexist attacks or failing to stop sexist attacks on Clinton, she can stew right where she is.
Even if she doesn't think that, she can stew right where she is.
I just don't care.
The express opinion that Obama bears some responsibility here is just idiotic.
The event should be about Obama along with Clinton's appreciation of her supporters. But she needs to start some hard work and I believe she's going to do it.
I agree about the stupidity of the calls to drop out (even though I wanted her to because I supported the competition), but vice president is a subservient job that demands your political goals and career ambitions get subjugated to those of the president. If the v.p. is lucky and the president really knows how to lead, they'll use the V.P intelligently, much like Clinton did.
It's wouldn't be a co-presidency. Vice President is a part of the team, not the leader. It's the nature of the job and not sexist to ask if she could meet the requirements.
they are spending all this time trying to tell Obama what to do? I fail to understand why two intelligent human beings continue to give Obama the opportunity to smack them down and tell them he's doing it his own way.
I think Obama would be a fool to let McCain set the parameters for debate, no matter how withered he would look next to Obama.
from candidate-centered sentiments to the general election. Clinton is to be commended for garnering such loyality, but she will now be concentrating on the general, I believe, as should everyone else.

I can do that.

For the first time in years, the party, the candidate, and the potential feels powerful!
I didn't look at his methodology closely. I'm guessing he just lumped their results together?
happily, that's changing the scenario.
given your history, I mean it.
Have add, though, I haven't supported a winner since Al Gore 2000.

is a problem. I think she's qualified and, if you look at Bowers' map, she could be a good choice. I'm not a purist on "change."
But they would have to figure out what to do with Bill and I'm not sure they could do it.
