Todd, you mention that you don't remember Obama ever being this fearlessly liberal in his rhetoric. I think he went back to some of the rhetoric from his 2004 DNC Speech. "Job for the jobless, homes for homeless, etc."
You must not be from North Carolina. We almost passed a statewide smoking ban this year. Obviously people are concerned about the shrinking tobacco industry, but we don't smoke anymore than any other state.
Dean Smith's basketball philosophy was certainly not "conservative." While he might have been mild-mannered and his players were always well-dressed and well-groomed and didn't say anything controversial, Dean Smith the coach was one of the leading innovators in basketball strategy.
While he may have emphasized team play and never had a singe dominant scorer, his teams always played with a certain flair.
I think he means... if there is no timeline, then there will be no funding. Essentially, forcing a timeline. I don't anyone serious advocates not funding the troops. We can't expect them to walk home from Iraq.

So in a decent Democratic year we should expect at least 4 electoral votes. There are 4 more that are "potential" pickups...aka Bush got less than 60% in 2004. Three of those four districts are represented by Democratic Congressmen (Etheridge, McIntyre, Shuler) and the fourth is Larry Kissell's district.
This is still news today, but in future elections and to some extent in this election, simply reporting what was collected over the internet is not going to be indicative of any type of movement support. Many people donate online now because it's easier. Campaigns are going to have event tickets for sale on line, or fund raisers could have laptops set up in the lobby, in lieu of written checks.

Obama will make his second trip to North Carolina since June 3 on Monday.
In 2004, 18.6% of voters were African-American. The exit poll was off. You can simply look at the voting data for the actual percentage.
So this poll is closer to being right. That doesn't mean that Obama can't improve black turnout significantly!
First of all...I loved it.

Wolf is losing control. He needs to let Edwards and the rest speak.
Unabridged,
Read the poll question on the PDF link. It says nothing about Hagan being a two term state senator.

Oooo. She wasn't laughing at that question!
She really echoed my thoughts on sanctuary cities. Good for her.
...at a question, somebody should say "I don't think it's funny."

I think the McCain is done headline had more to do with the $2million cash-on-hand and the firing of 50 employees more than the $11 million 2Q take.
I'm sure Edwards has much more than $2million in hand.
