Zonk-
says who? Says Jerome who is a shill for Hillary. He has a vested interest in pushing the meme that Obama is widely favored in order to make a defeat or even a close race more significant. All the polling done in Maine (none recent that I've seen) favors Hillary. The demographics favor Hillary. The demographics in Washington state favor her, too. I haven't seen polls there. It's ludicrous to suggest that Obama is favored to win these states, but they are not above being ludicrous to establish a favorable narrative for their candidate.
Hillary is not Mitt Romney. There is a ceiling on what she can loan to herself. Besides the fact, that the stories will start as to where the money is coming from.
Ohio will be very predictive. I'm sure Obama will actually contest Ohio. I think Hillary has inherent advantages in Ohio based on the demographics, but it will be interesting to watch. he does well when he actively campaigns.
Now that's disappointing. I wanted him to stay in a while to rough up McCain while we continue to fight our own internal battle. This will just give McCain time to define himself for the American people before we can define him.
The DNC had to somehow punish states that wanted to jump in line. If not, every state would try to move their primary to January or early February. The whole point of spacing them out is to give unknown candidates a fighting chance at the nomination.
Of course they are asking the superdelegates to vote for them. Both camps have extensive courting operations. Chelsea has been dialing for Clinton. Unfortunately, the superdelegates have a lot of power this cycle. It's a very undemocratic process, and with the situation with FL and MI, could get very messy.
Obama has no choice. Hillary has been part of the public consciousness for 16 years. People downplay name recognition, but it's a real factor. Everyone on here is a political junkie or you wouldn't be on here. For huge groups of the American people, a name (and an unusual one at that) is all they know about Obama. He needs money to introduce himself to people in a compressed time frame and then introduce his message. Clinton has the luxury of starting with her message.

Those are old polls. The latest polls having both Clinton and Obama beating McCain, though it's Obama by a larger margin.
Huckabee won't stay in. He has no mathematical way to win the nomination. He's angling for the VP nod.

The $5 million she raised serves to retire her debt to herself. Meanwhile, he has raised $7.5 million he can actually spend.

I think the Clinton camp might like Obama as the frontrunner. It raises expectations for him in a big way.

It's now up to $4.8 million. Unbelievable. I donated earlier today
I pulled the most recent number from Talking Points Memo.
oops.. now it's $4.3 million
In addition to the $13.5 million. With the loan, she raised half of what Obama did.
