I'd say Newsom actually set back the gay rights movement 5-10 years.  He was seen (and somewhat still is) as a the face of gay equality in America, and from his multiple affairs to his alcoholism he did untold damage in the fight equal rights.

that's how I essentially feel about Gavin Newsom.  I applaud him sticking to his guns on gay marriage and agree with him on most major issues.  However he will be lucky to break 45% against someone like Meg Whitman.  He has NO appeal to anyone outside his constituency and will motivate the right like no other candidate.

Unlike the last guy, President Obama is going to put national security ahead of party politics.  If you don't like it Jerome, there's plenty of room for you in GOP.

I really hope this becomes a priority in the Obama administration.  Rail transit is desperately needed in most of America's major cities.

if they do what Huckabee wants and abandon fiscal conservatism and completely embrace the Christian right.  Look at the numbers people!  On issues like choice, gay rights, church and state, stem cells, the next generation of voters overwhelming agrees with the Democrats.  They're going to become the party of octogenarians.  Sure it might keep them sustainable for 4-6 years but what about ten, fifteen, twenty years down the road when the those voters are gone?

As a Latino I think it absurd to use a quota system in a cabinet.  This isn't college admissions, and just because a cabinet looks diverse doesn't mean it will have the interest of minorities in mind.  Bush had one of the most diverse cabinets in history and look how it worked out.

I've been dieing for Obama to launch an ad with Warner in it.  I'm so glad they're unloading this in the final two weeks.  I want to see this thing on television.  Then its lights out.

There's no other word for it.  Evil.  Republicans are willing to let millions of Americans lose everything just to increase their shot at winning an election.  Think about that for a minute.  In order to hold on to power these people are sacrificing the LIVES of millions of Americans.

Never applaud anything Democrats do and then praise Republicans on their "bold" VP pick.
