To say nothing of the Catholic Bishops who run around condemning Democrats for supporting choice while saying nothing about Republicans who support the death penalty and war... both are against Catholic doctrine.

I think the conservatives he is pandering to will be satisfied come reelection time if he runs a campaign based solely on insulting Pres. Obama and Democrats... that's like oxygen to them.  The moderates and independents that he would need to appeal to to get reelected are another matter.  The Dem challenger will not forget this episode and will make sure the voters don't either.

I just love the irony that he is worried about the budget deficit in his state... a deficit that was largely caused by his ill-advised tax cuts.

I used to live in VA, so I still follow the politics.  I'm no Terry fan, that's for sure, so anyone else who gets nominated is fine by me.

The GOP will probably make the same mistake they made in the Senate race.  They will nominate some firebrand conservative who is completely out of touch with mainstream VA, so as long as the Dem can withstand the withering attacks of falsehood that are sure to come in the race, we should still win.

There is no need for reform until 2016.  There will not be a primary challenge.

Limbaugh is an idiot.  Anyone who gives him the time of day is an idiot.  He distorts facts to support his own arguments.  If you think is is some sage, wise voice, then I am truly sorry for you... you really should expand your horizons.

According to Rush, all of his speeches are about American values and heritage.  Unfortunately, he makes up a lot of stuff.  So, if you value lying and your heritage is all about ad hominem attacks using falsified info, then Rush Limbaugh is the man.

Steele was dead on in his assessment... which, given his tone-deafness of late was kinda shocking.  Although personally I'm surprised he didn't issue a retraction yesterday.

Now then, to answer your question...  Michael Steele is an enormous gift to the Democrats!  Between Steele and Limbaugh, they are the gift that just keeps giving.  Steele suffers from foot in mouth disease worse than anyone I have ever witnessed.  He makes Joe Biden look like, well, like Obama.

As for Limbaugh, there is little to nothing he can ever say to get independents on his side.  Even moderate Republicans dislike him.  

The Republicans will be wandering in the wilderness for quite some time.  You cannot win nationally with the dub and dumber coalition they have built.

I'll get flamed for saying this I'm sure, but Israel has seemed tone-deaf when it comes to the hearts and minds aspect of things.  They did it in Lebanon when anyone could have predicted that giving money to civilians to rebuild their lives was a good strategy.  Israel didn't, America didn't Hezbollah did.  Guess who won the PR battle there?

Now we have Gaza... All Israel has to do is lend a sympathetic hand to the civilians caught in the middle of this and attitudes will change... At the end of the day, you align with people who seem to have your best interests at heart... That could be Israel so easily with the citizens of Gaza if they would just try.
