It is time to distinguish GOP fanatics who happen to be Catholics vs Catholic fanatics.  They make it appear Catholics is only about abortion and gay marriage and simplify that issue.

Catholic fanatics are not political---they are fanatics for Christ.  They dont deal with isolated issues like gay marriage or abortion.
They pray a lot,go to mass everyday, life revolving around Church,  go to retreats, pray rosary often, go to missions, charity etc.

Media has allowed GOP fanatics who are Catholics to speak as if they are speaking for the Catholic Church.

Have they once ask what GOP thinks about the Matthew 25 bible passage on Whatever you do to the least of my bretheren you do to me?  That I think embodies more the Catholic Church than anything else.

  • He should be nominated to the CNN Hero Awards.

He is what we hope public servants are---do things for the good of the country whether it is popular or not.

Sadly,  he does not get the appreciation and respect and recognition he deserves

I think McCain campaign treated Palin poorly.

If she was a man,  they wouldnt muzzle her and call her a diva or lie on her ignorance of geography or dress her up like a doll, etc.

    Let Lieberman join the GOP.

    Dems dont need him.

I dont mind a conservative slant---but deliberate lying and distortion and repeating it every minute every day.

I didnt think reasonable people believe them.

But when my really intelligent IT coworkers from a very blue state and very blue county is repeating the same FOX lies and really very scared of a Obama win and thinking Obama will be a socialist who will change life in America to akin to a Soviet state believes this---then I say something must be done with FOX.

I say we need to call their advertisers -because what they are doing is not good for America and Democracy.

Because they are putting Obama's life in danger by getting people riled up and fearful.  I blame McCain too.

    This is really bad.

I hope Republican leaders, institutions,  Church should speak up about this.

    Because this is really bad.

What kind of Ads and robocalls do you think will GOP have on McCain.

What kind of 24 hr FOX commentary will he receive?

I bet GOP ads and robocalls will portray McCain as a traitor, Saddam Hussein links,  Alaska  seccessionist,  hot headed and dangerous,  Keating 5,  etc.

That is how bad GOP is ----they are really really so bad.

    Democrats dont do that!

Media and Congress needs to demand McCain be more responsible and be careful wittingly or unwittingly not to activate extremist psychopaths to do harm to Obama or incite racial hatred and violence.

If something happens to Obama,  I am  afraid we may have riots like the 60's.  This has got to stop now.

    She avoided tough questions.

    This should be the meme.

    She avoided tough questions.

  • Just do it.

If it needs to be more public---then increase its visibility.

There is Huffington Post,  Daily Kos and bloggers that can increase its visibility.

Also Blogs should help with Fundraising for OBama too by Front Paging fundraise campaigns once a week.   They can set up MYDD PAge and fundraise q monday  or whatever.

    Take own initiative.

  • This way he will use the surge against McCain.

McCain is simplistic---This simplistic belief that war is the answer is dangerous.

  • comment on a post Obama's brief appearance on O'Reilly over 5 years ago

It is simplistic to say that the surge is the one only responsible for the improvements in Iraq.

Even Woodrow (or an author) said that the 4 things that helped improve the situation are:

    1) Petreus strategy of engaging the Sunnis who already have decided to stop supporting Al Queda and paying them $300/month

    1.  Sadr declaring a ceasefire
    2.  ethnic cleansing of Bagdhad neighborhoods
    3.  diplomacy

Even if you added 100,000 troops the situation wouldnt have improved if above have not  occurred.  This just shows diplomacy works.

If the lesson John McCain took from the improvement is that war is the answer then that is a dangerous thing since his answer to every conflict will be war.

Jerome is right.  If we deny the fact then it will be in our peril and the nation's.

Thus I hope everybody wakes up and work doubly hard and donate and knock on doors,  talk to friends and relatives and convince them and tell them the truth.

Correct the lies the GOP puts forth.
